JOB REQUIREMENTS: Position Description: The Medical College of Wisconsin/'s Department of Neurosurgery is seeking a Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant to support the Skull Base Surgery Specialty services located in Milwaukee, Wisconsin at the Froedtert Hospital, and the Neurosciences Clinic. Additional coverage will take place at McKinley Health Center. MCW Department of Neurosurgery will advance the field of neurological surgery through world-class care, groundbreaking research, and innovative education. Our neurosurgeons staff the only Level 1 Trauma Centers in southeastern Wisconsin. The Advanced Practice Provider (APP) works as a member of a multidisciplinary health care team who will contribute to excellence in program administration, patient care, patient safety, research, quality improvement, and teaching. The Ideal Candidate will be a new or experience clinician/APP wanting to be part of a thriving and very collaborative academic practice at the Medical College of Wisconsin (MCW). Areas of responsibility will include, but not be limited to providing direct patient care to patients in both an inpatient and outpatient setting. In this role you will: Collaborates with interdisciplinary health care teams in diagnosis and treatment of conditions requiring neurosurgical intervention in blended environment as a member of the Neurosurgery Service. Independently, collaboratively as appropriate, seeing post-surgical patients for post-op and general follow up in the clinic Provider cross-coverage in inpatient settings and on consult service Join a busy yet growing practice and be an integral part of that growth! Core Advanced Practice Responsibilities Perform comprehensive histories and physical exams, identifies normal and abnormal findings, including physical, cognitive, and psychosocial status. Order, perform, and interpret screening and diagnostic procedures and tests, and appropriately communicates and documents information Write accurate and timely progress notes, procedure notes, and/or admission and transfer orders Develop pharmaceutical and non-pharmaceutical treatment plans. Monitor effectiveness of plan of care Educate patients on disease and treatment plans. Perform procedures as trained and appropriately credentialed. Document within the Electronic Medical Record (EMR) and completes other necessary documents. Collaborate and/or consults with physicians and other health care providers as appropriate. Educates, counsels, and assists patients and families regarding current health problems, health maintenance activities and preventive behaviors. Attend required training and meets key...
