Middle School Chemistry Substitute Teacher

BASIS Independent Schools , a subsidiary of Spring Education Group, is seeking a qualified candidate for a long-term substitute teacher role for middle school Chemistry in McLean, Virginia. Responsibilities: Prepare and deliver subject-specific lessons in Chemistry. Provide instruction at a higher level than grade standard, in an interactive learning environment. Collaborate with other teachers to ensure education is at an internationally competitive level. Tutor students to enhance their academic and career success. Manage student behavior to foster academic achievement and personal responsibility. Qualifications: Deep knowledge and passion for the subject taught. Ability to differentiate instruction and engage students in rigorous content. Strong communication skills with students, colleagues, and parents. Open to feedback and continuous growth. Cooperative, collaborative, supportive, and flexible. Strong work ethic and a mindset of doing whatever it takes. *Bachelor's degree in the subject area required. Preferred qualifications include subject matter postgraduate work (master's or Ph.D.) and experience working with children.
