Senior Director, Special Events & Projects P3R, the region's go-to premier sporting event and experience expert is seeking a Senior Director, Special Events & Projects. The Senior Director of Special Events and Projects will report to the CEO and oversee and work directly with key stakeholders in the strategic planning, logistics, and execution of the 2026 NFL Draft in Pittsburgh. This position will be external facing so great communication and public speaking skills are a must. Another key responsibility of the position will be to continue to help P3R execute high-level events throughout our region while launching additional events, youth leagues and clinics throughout the region and country. Duties and Responsibilities include but are not limited to: NFL Draft Event Strategy and Planning: Lead the development and execution of the current NFL Draft plan as the Pittsburgh Draft Project Lead, ensuring the flawless delivery of the 2026 NFL Draft.. Collaboratewith stakeholders across the region along with the NFL and establish subcommittees for important aspects of the NFL draft including City Planning and Safety, Venues, Lodging, Football Legacy, etc. Work closely with VisitPITTSBURGH to fulfill all of the 2026 NFL Draft requirements and lead weekly update calls with the VisitPITTSBURGH leadership team along with biweekly calls with the Executive NFL Draft Committee of Pittsburgh. Provide the NFL with important information as requested, such as mapping, key contacts, permitting, etc. to ensure a seamless draft experience for not only the league but the fans. Foster a regional environment of collaboration to ensure that every voice is heard so that the city will be showcased for all. P3R Operational Team Member : Work closely with the P3R Senior Vice President of Operations and the operations team on not only draft preparations but on other P3R events including but not limited to the DICK'S Sporting Goods Pittsburgh Marathon, the City of Pittsburgh Great Race, the EQT Pittsburgh 10 Miler and several other events. Provide weekly updates to P3R Leadership on the progress of the draft.(P3R team members will assist with each of the subcommittees and will report findings to this position.) Develop contingency plans to address potential challenges or disruptions. Integrate with our local communities and neighborhoods to make sure that all P3R events, along with the 2026 NFL Draft are a success for all. P3R New Events and Projects : Work closely with the P3R Leadership Team to identify and explore high-level growth opportunities that will directly lead back to P3R's mission by encouraging people to MOVE through events, clinics, leagues, etc. Identify key facilities to host events, leagues, and clinics along with facility management opportunities to ensure event excellence. Project lead on future initiatives. Required Qualifications: Bachelor's degree in Event Management, Sports Management, Business Administration, or related field. 10+ years of experience in large-scale event operations, preferably in sports, entertainment, or related industries. Proven experience leading complex projects, managing budgets, and coordinating with multiple stakeholders. Excellent organizational, leadership, and problem-solving skills. Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, high-pressure environment. Excellent public speaking skills along with written communication. Competencies: Passion for P3R's mission of inspiring any and all to move. Exceptional customer service skills. Experience in event and project management. Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to build and maintain relationships. Excellent organizational and time management skills. Effective communication skills (both verbal and written), including public speaking. Ability to multitask and perform well under pressure. Ability to work effectively with a diverse workforce.
