Summary: The Director of IT will lead and manage all technology operations within the company, ensuring the effective implementation of IT strategies that align with the business objectives of a manufacturing environment. The role requires a blend of leadership, technical expertise, and an understanding of manufacturing processes to optimize productivity, enhance security, and streamline operations through technology. Duties / Responsibilities: Develop and implement the company's overall IT strategy in alignment with business goals, particularly focusing on the needs of a manufacturing organization. Collaborate with executive leadership to identify technology initiatives that can drive operational efficiency, reduce downtime, and support business growth. Oversee the operation, support, and maintenance of the company's IT infrastructure, including ERP systems, network security, manufacturing software, and databases. Ensure smooth integration between production systems, ERP (Enterprise Resource Planning) systems, and other business applications. Lead efforts to secure company systems and data by implementing robust cybersecurity measures, including firewalls, encryption, user access controls, and vulnerability assessments. Develop and enforce IT security policies and procedures to protect against cyber threats, especially in the context of manufacturing operations. Manage and mentor the IT team, fostering a culture of collaboration, innovation, and continuous improvement. Evaluate and hire IT professionals as necessary to ensure the team has the capabilities to support the company's technological needs. Negotiate and manage contracts with third-party vendors, ensuring cost-effective procurement of IT services, software, and hardware. Oversee the implementation of new technologies, ensuring they meet the company's operational and budgetary requirements. Lead IT projects related to system upgrades, new technology implementations, and process automation within the manufacturing environment. Coordinate cross-functional teams and manage timelines, budgets, and risks to ensure successful project delivery. Implement and oversee data governance strategies to ensure integrity, accuracy, and security of data across the organization. Promote the use of data analytics to support decision-making processes, improve efficiency, and optimize production processes. Develop and maintain the company's disaster recovery and business continuity plans to ensure minimal disruption to operations in the event of IT system failures or security breaches. Perform other duties as assigned. Required Qualifications: Bachelor's degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or a related field. 8+ years of IT experience, with at least 5 years in a leadership role, preferably in a manufacturing environment. In-depth knowledge of IT infrastructure, ERP systems, manufacturing software, and cybersecurity best practices. Strong understanding of manufacturing processes and how technology can support production efficiency and product quality. Proven experience managing IT budgets, projects, and teams. Excellent problem-solving skills, with the ability to manage complex IT challenges within a fast-paced manufacturing environment. Strong communication skills to collaborate effectively with both technical and non-technical teams. Preferred Qualifications: Master's degree in Information Technology, Computer Science or related field. 2+ years of experience as a Systems Administrator, preferably in a manufacturing environment. Familiarity with manufacturing systems such as ERP (Enterprise Resource Planning), specifically NetSuite, MES (Manufacturing Execution Systems), and SCADA. Expertise in network administration, including routers, switches, firewalls, and VPN technologies. Strong knowledge of Windows Server, Linux, and virtualization technologies (e.g., VMware, Hyper-V). Normal Working Hours and Conditions: Core business hours are generally 8:00 am - 5:00 pm. However, this position may require work to be performed outside of normal business hours based on Company operations.
