Job Summary Provides leadership and management of overall Logistics Services operations per assigned hospital entity(ies) within the Storeroom, offsite Storage Facilities, Medical Equipment Distribution, Mailroom, Linen Services, and Patient Transport Service departments in an efficient and cost-effective manner to meet Geisinger needs. Works with the Supervisors, Managers, and Directors of clinical departments to provide effective product and services at a reasonable cost. Job Duties Manages the daily operations of all departments assigned, to ensure all daily functions are completed to service patients. Functions included are: Paring, Picking, Receiving, Delivering, Inventory Preparation and Customer Service. Assures that all supplies are handled in accordance with Infection Control Policy and Procedure. Manages total adherence to all Federal and State statutes regarding warehouse operation including Joint Commission, DOH, Board of Pharmacy, DOT, FDA and OSHA regulations. Manages all employee relations activities (coaching, counseling, etc.) and actively participates in resolving employee problems and conflicts as appropriate for all assigned departments. Consults with Director when necessary. Responsible for hiring and termination of employees for all assigned departments. Ensures new employee orientation and training is completed for all departments assigned. Ensures all employee evaluations are completed accurately and in a timely manner. Facilitates communication with supervisors and staff via formal meetings and informal interactions. Confers with department heads to ensure coordination of department activities. Assists in the development, implementation, and achieves budgets. Understands the cost drivers in each department and effectively oversees and manages them. Ensures the maintenance and repair of all equipment in all assigned departments is completed accurately and in a cost-effective manner. Participates in the development, implementation and annual review of all departmental policies and procedures. Ensures all areas are within compliance of all departmental, health system and governing body policies, procedures and guidelines. Ensures the development of staff and all training needs are identified with appropriate training provided within acceptable time guidelines. Facilitates appropriate recognition of individuals and staff performance to maintain a positive and motivational work environment. Participates in further educational seminars, conferences, and meetings where and when applicable. Develops and maintains disaster/contingency plans to help ensure supply acquisition during emergencies. Understands and ensures staff is prepared to respond. Assures that all supplies are handled in accordance with Infection Control Policy and Procedures. Work is typically performed in an office environment.
