Team Impact In this position, you will be an important member of the facilities team. This team is critical for keeping our organization in optimal working condition so that we can provide the best care possible to our patients. In this position, you will help support the maintenance team by responding to requests to install, maintain, repair, and inspect mechanical equipment and systems. You will be supporting range of maintenance assignments using careful judgment to make decisions requiring the application of procedures and practices to specific work situations, and in line with OSHA safety guidelines. Some highlights about this opportunity include: * Full time role form 2:30p-11p (Great for night owls)! * Working during the evening hours is attributed with an up to 22% shift differential on top of your base pay * Opportunity to make a broad and reaching impact across multiple stakeholder/departments within the organization * Opportunity to work with an expert group of craftworkers from a variety of trade backgrounds The Glens Falls Hospital Impact Mission Our Mission is to improve the health of people in our region by providing access to exceptional, affordable, and patient-centered care every day and in every setting. * * How You Will Fulfill Your Potential Responsibilities * Perform service and repair activities for a wide variety of patient and customer needs including but not limited to: o lighting repairs/replacements o heating/cooling calls o plumbing repairs o ceiling tile replacements o minor electrical repairs o minor painting, patching, and carpentry repairs * Perform preventive and predictive maintenance activities on hospital equipment and systems such as: o Cleaning/lubricating equipment o Managing filter changes o Refrigerant handling o Cleaning heat pump and fan/coil units o Checking lighting, exit signage, and doors o Installing and repairing signage, pictures, cabinets, shelving, window coverings etc. o Repairing/maintaining stretchers, carts, wheelchairs and other equipment as required o Repairing and rebuilding machinery, motors and equipment found in the hospital utility systems/departments as well as beds, stretchers, and wheelchairs o Assisting skilled trades as necessary Qualifications/Experience * * Education/Accredited Programs · High school diploma/GED equivalent required · Successful completion of a 2-year trade school education highly preferred Licenses/Certificates/Registrations · Valid NYS Driver's License Required · Journeyman and/or Apprentice Licensure preferred · US EPA Refrigerant Certification (Class 1, 2, or 3) Licensure preferred Experience/Abilities · 5 years' experience, in a mechanical and/or electrical trade related to facilities operation and maintenance in lieu of a 2-year trade school education · Direct experience as a maintenance technician in a healthcare, industrial or manufacturing environment may be considered in lieu of 5 years' experience in general maintenance or a 2-year trade school education · Demonstrated aptitude in one or more facility trade; mechanical, electrical, HVAC, carpentry, or plumbing · Mechanical aptitude, demonstrated through on-the-job and educational activities · Ability to safely and properly use hand and power tools, electrical meters and test equipment as well as maintenance lubricants, solvents and other industrial chemicals · Ability to work independently and make sound decisions under minimal supervision · Ability to read and interpret drawings, specifications, and technical documents/bulletins · Some computer skills required · Ability to accurately and descriptively document all completed work, order materials, etc. · Well-developed communication skills, both verbal and written. · Strong customer service skills. Salary Range The expected base rate for this Glens Falls, New York, United States-based position is $18.17 to $25.58 per hour. Exact rate is determined on a case-by-case basis commensurate with experience level, as well as education and certifications pertaining to each position which may be above the listed job requirements.
