Service Dispatcher

Position DescriptionWe are looking for a Dispatcher to communicate daily transportation activities to the team to ensure service and delivery goals are achieved on time. To be successful, you will thrive on having multiple tasks at a time and are an expert organizer.Essential Duties and ResponsibilitiesTo perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. Other minor duties may be assigned.Dispatches drivers to calls as they are received, using information on customer needs, drivers' locations and loads, and daily factors to balance cost and customer satisfaction.Works with the operations department to optimize routes based on needs of the customer.Determines the daily level of driver staffing to provide best mix of responsiveness and productivity.Assigns routes and work orders to appropriate drivers throughout the day and for the next day; manages and determines route actions and assuring route completion.Handlesfields incoming calls and e-mails from customer service and sales department; manages requests for all pick-up or delivery on any equipment movement within the service itiates communication to customers while drivers are on-sitelocation. Resolving delivery, pickup, and service issues delaying the service process. Troubleshoots and resolves potential delivery and pick-up problems before they result in service issues.Ensures same-day service by managing the routing for all routes and tracking driver movement in the field.Keeps Operations manager updated on issues, and resolution of issues.Supports drivers with respect.RequirementsHigh school diploma or general education degree (GED) andor training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.At least 2 years' experience in dispatching emergency services, logistics, waste or transportation field.Bi-lingual preferred.
