Instrument Service Engineer Application Deadline: 15 November 2024 Department: Engineering Employment Type: Full Time Location: Lexington, MA Reporting To: Tom Cygan Description We are seeking a talented and highly motivated individual to join our team as an Instrument Service Engineer . This position is based on-site in Lexington, MA, and will report directly to the Senior Manager, Production Support and New Product Engineering. Responsibilities Perform instrument maintenance including cleaning, preventative maintenance and instrument repairs. Observe and document instrument failures as they occur. Complete instrument QA records in accordance with SOP's and good documentation practices. Maintain instrument run logs and record basic performance data. Load instruments following written protocols and instructions. Maintain a clean and sanitary work area in accordance with standard laboratory practice and procedures. Other engineering and technical projects as needed. Skills and Experience B.S. in Mechanical or Biomechanical Engineering and 1+ years of work experience, or 4+ years of work experience as an electro-mechanical technician. Must have mechanical aptitude and excellent attention to detail. Experience or understanding of fluidics, motion control, and thermal systems as well as electro-mechanical components for these systems is preferred. Basic bio lab skills such as safety, pipetting, sample handling is a plus. Must be comfortable handling blood samples. Experience working in an FDA-regulated environment a plus. Excellent organizational, recordkeeping and communication skills (verbal and written). Experience using Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, etc.) required. Must have a strong work ethic and commitment to generating high quality work under tight deadlines. Self starter and able to work in a fast-paced environment within a matrix organization. Must have excellent observational skills and a collaborative, proactive and positive attitude.
