Bus Driver Assistant Shift/Hours: Monday-Friday (School Schedule) Swing Shift 2:00-5:30PM Pay Rate: $17/hr Location: Severn, MD Experience: 1-2 years We are excited to share a new opportunity! PrideStaff, a nationally recognized staffing company, has been given an opportunity to assist a customer in Severn, MD! The client is a Private School and they are currently looking for someone to help provide safe and nurturing transportation for their students. Job Responsibilities: • Assist the bus driver in maintaining order and discipline on the school bus • Help students board and exit the bus safely, paying special attention to those with special needs • Ensure all students are seated and wearing seat belts before the bus departs • Maintain a clean and orderly bus environment • Monitor student behavior and report any incidents or concerns to the bus driver and school administration • Assist in emergency situations, including evacuations if necessary • Perform basic first aid when required • Help with loading and unloading of student belongings and equipment • Maintain accurate records of student attendance on the bus • Assist with bus inspections before and after routes • Participate in regular safety training and professional development sessions • Foster a positive and nurturing environment for students during their commute • Assist in implementing and enforcing school transportation policies and procedures Skills Required: • High school diploma or equivalent • Valid driver's license with a clean driving record (preferred) • CPR and First Aid certification (or willingness to obtain) • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills • Patient and compassionate demeanor, especially when working with children • Ability to maintain discipline and order in a respectful manner • Physical ability to assist students and perform necessary job functions • Flexibility to work early morning and afternoon shifts • Strong attention to detail and ability to follow safety protocols • Team player with a positive attitude • Basic computer skills for record-keeping and communication • Knowledge of or willingness to learn about child development and behavior management techniques • Commitment to the Christian values and mission of Annapolis Area Christian School Benefits of working with PrideStaff: Medical, Rx, and Wellness Benefits Dental and Vision Plan Options Short-term Disability 401(k) Retirement Plan Holiday Pay Compensation / Pay Rate (Up to): $17.00 - $17.00 Per Hour
