PAY: Starting Pay: $18.00 - $22.00hr Up to $22.00 - $30.00hr for skilled, experienced motor repair techs who also are willing to do field service. BONUSES: Sign-On Bonus at 60 days Retention Bonus at 6 months 1 year Bonus for those who qualify SUMMARY OF DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:Responsible for learning and performing both AC and DC electric motor repair, which could include mechanical work or winding, both random and form windings, high and low voltage. Will cross-train into other areas of motor repair or other disciplines within the Electromechanical Group. PRIMARY DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: Responsible for both learning and performing the mechanical functions of electric motor repair including changing brushes, bearings, disassembly, assembly, and miscellaneous routine operations. Could cross train into winding motors, which would include both random and form winding of AC and DC motors (low voltage-460, medium voltage-4160.) Will run diagnostic procedures and tests using surge tester, high potential tester, and various ohm meters and test panels. Responsible for the learning the redesign of electrical characteristics of motors for more efficiency in order to meet standards. Involves extensive use of algebraic formulas. Trainees will be assigned to assist an EMG trainer. Will be responsible for cross- training into other areas of EMG at a time determined appropriate by management personnel. Performs other related duties and assignments as required. EDUCATION, PRIOR WORK EXPERIENCESPECIALIZED SKILLSKNOWLEDGE: Minimum of 2 years of technical education or comparable experience preferred. Must have a mechanical background or aptitude. Excellent manual dexterity including finger and hand-eye coordination. Experience with or knowledge of electric motors helpful. Good math background, aptitude, and attention to detail required. PHYSICAL ENVIRONMENTWORKING CONDITIONS: Works in a service area where the temperature may fluctuate with outside temperatures. Must be able to push, pull, and lift up to 80 pounds. Must be able to bend, stoop, crouch, etc, in the performance of the job. Must be able to stand for long periods of time. Must be willing to sign a non-compete agreement.
