Job Description: EMS Captain (Paramedic) Full-Time, Second Shift Emergency Medica Services I Lexington, KY Unit Description: Emergency Medical Services that provides urgent pre-hospital care and transport to patients. Baptist Health Lexington Ambulance Service is a provider established in Lexington, Kentucky operating as a Ambulance with a focus in land transport. Description: Directly supervises on-duty Paramedics and EMTs during designated hours of operation to ensure quality services and promote positive employee relations. Assess emergency situations to ensure proper procedures are followed. Provide expertise and assistance to team members on operational and administrative duties as needed. Assist in completing performance evaluations and establishing goals for team members. Participate in management meetings and mandatory training sessions. Ensure compliance with Kentucky Board of EMS State Protocols and regulations. Consistently and fairly implements department, hospital, HR, and organization policies, including necessary disciplinary measures Develops performance goals/objectives with each staff member to promote maximum productivity, proficiency, and professional growth, as evidenced by written goals on performance appraisals. Assists Director with recruitment and selection of qualified employment candidates Leads staff and support peers in the implementation of changes designed to provide high-quality, cost-effective patient care throughout the organization Effectively manages and sets performance expectations for staff. Resolves performance issues timely and in compliance with hospital human resources policies. Supports hospital management decisions through communication with staff and execution of directives, i.e. takes accountability as a team member. Requirements: High School Diploma/GED required. Four years' experience. Kentucky licensed as an Emergency Medical Technician-Paramedic Valid KY Driver's License. Basic Life Support (BLS), Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS), NIMS ICS 100,200,700, and 800. Must obtain Critical endorsement and/or Critical Care Paramedic IBSC certification within 6 months.
