Job Description The Senior OpEx Engineer will develop strategic plans under the direction of the Operational Excellence site lead and provide data analysis from manufacturing, supply chain and quality operations to guide decisions in key strategic projects and performance improvement initiatives. The incumbent will lead strategy implementation to drive the Operational Excellence culture for the site and lead the implementation both directly and indirectly across all functions. The strategy must incorporate the integration of Continuous Improvement and Lean methodologies and align to business performance and financial goals. Responsibilities: Manage KPI reporting for the Site and provide direction and guidance for performance improvement initiatives. Responsible for activities associated with Perfect Index (e.g., effective collection of data, co-ordination of site activities to deliver top tier performance) Lead activities that promote a culture of operational excellence including the organization of benchmarking and corporate visits to identify and apply best practices in the industry through Townhalls, Business Alignment, Corporate Visits. Engage with leaders cross functionally to align process improvement goals with business objectives and ensure buy-in. Incorporate data analysis and problem solving through lean manufacturing methodologies, DMAIC, Value Stream Maps, 5-Why, Ishikawa diagrams, FMEAs and/or Kaizen to investigate issues and performance drivers to establish robust action plans. Demonstrate strong leadership by leading work teams in the execution of improvement initiatives including the OpEx champions program as well as coaching white belts, yellow belts and green belts. Facilitate and lead strategy sessions with Site and Executive Management, lean six sigma white belt training, lean six sigma yellow belt training, and new hire orientation. Establish and lead programs to plan, execute, monitor cost, and performance according to Site goals, Project Management and Global commitments. Perform waste analysis to achieve optimal process value and generate savings in line with plant goals through initiatives. Assure fulfillment of Environmental, Health, and Safety (EHS) requirements and compliance obligations, promote continuous improvement, and consider EHS aspects during the design and change process. Qualifications Bachelor's degree in science, or Engineering required 8-10 years of relevant service working in a highly regulated field required Experience leading projects, operational excellence initiatives and driving a healthy OpEx culture with Site Cross Functional Teams (CFT) Experience in operational excellence or continuous improvement Experience with OEE, equipment capacity, and equipment utilization calculations. Preferred Advanced degree in Science, Engineering or Business Administration 3+ years of experience managing direct reports Lean Six Sigma Blackbelt certification Communication: Strong written and verbal communication skills with the ability to influence and motivate teams at all levels of the organization. Analytical Thinking: Strong problem-solving skills with a data-driven approach to identifying and resolving issues. Detail-Oriented: Precision and attention to detail in analyzing data, implementing improvements, and documenting results. Financial Acumen: Ability to analyze volumes of data and synthesize into clear insights for use in decision making. Proficiant in using tools such as PowerBI, Visio, word, excel, PowerPoint, OneNote, MS Office Suite, data analysis software (e.g., Minitab, Excel), ERP systems, and knowledge of statistical process control (SPC).
