Position will be based out of Totowa, NJ. The Quality Assurance Manager reports to the Director of Quality and is responsible for the management of JJM's dietary supplement programs for retail and food service customers. The dietary supplement program has five elements that will roughly comprise the job as follows: Quality Management , Material Conformance ; Production Planning, Laboratory Control, Documentation. Key Responsibilities Lead the COA qualification plan for identity testing, composition, strength, purity and contaminants such as heavy metals and pesticides for all ingredients used in dietary supplements (Material Conformance). Manage the dietary ingredient testing procedures from raw material receipt through finished goods, including release of dietary ingredient and finished goods following review of analytical testing against COA and specification and remediation or rework of out-of-spec finished goods per client final approval (Material Conformance) Verify finished dietary supplements against label claims minimally on an annual basis or as requested by client (Material Conformance) Liaison with clients on stability and performance testing of dietary supplements (Material Conformance) Review all methods, processes and analyses conducted by 3rd party ISO 17025 accredited laboratory for approval against supplier specifications (Laboratory Control) Investigate and resolve deviations, discrepancies and out-of-spec laboratory data for dietary ingredients between accredited lab, supplier and/or client (Laboratory Control) Create and maintain testing database for all dietary ingredient and provide quarterly management report to clients and management upon request (Laboratory Control) Complete a desk audit of high risk, high volume direct procured dietary supplement suppliers and 3rd party accredited lab minimally every three years as part of supplier approval program (Material Conformance/Laboratory Control) Develop and update all dietary ingredient specifications, finished goods specifications, and Master Manufacturing Batch Records for JJM raw material and formulas (Production Planning/Documentation) Lead the annual review of supplier quality documentations for all direct purchase food and dietary supplement raw materials, ensuring updated allergen, nutrition, Country of Origin, Non-Bioengineered Food, Safety Data Sheet, Suitability and GRAS notifications and any 3rd party certifications (Documentation) Maintain, review and train on all SOPs pertaining to dietary supplement program minimally on an annual basis (Documentation) Required Education and Experience BS in Food Science, Nutrition, or related sciences 7-10 years of experience in regulatory compliance in food, beverage, and/or dietary supplements Highly adept in handling complexity and judgment Strong analytical problem solving and reasoning skills Great attention to detail and organization Balances written and verbal communication
