Job Title: Animal Technician - Necro Job Description As an Animal Care Technician specializing in cage washing duties, you will operate mechanical cage washing equipment, autoclaves, and other sanitizing equipment. You will place processed bedding, feed, and other related items into assembled, sanitized cages. You will maintain detailed records of maintenance schedules, detergent and disinfectant use, cage washer and autoclave performance tests. Additionally, you will ensure adequate levels of cage wash chemicals. Your responsibilities will also include performing daily animal health observations and animal husbandry duties to maintain the quality and health of research animals. This includes performing daily water bottle/automatic water line and cage checks, providing appropriate food and water, and performing cage changing and/or cage cleaning as required per SOP and/or specified protocols. Must also be comfortable with the removal and disposal of deceased animal remains.
