Job Details Job Location Tri-Gas and Oil Main Office - Federalsburg, MD Position Type Full Time Education Level CDL with Hazmat endorsement Salary Range $26.50 - $33.50 Hourly Job Category Transportation Transport Petroleum Driver SUMMARY: Transport Driver is responsible for transporting finished goods and raw materials over land to and from retail and distribution centers. Inspecting vehicles for mechanical items and safety issues and perform preventative maintenance. We are looking for a transport petroleum driver to work DAY SHIFT Saturday- Wednesday. This is a slip seat position. DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES: Deliver goods while operating a tractor-trailer truck, sometimes over intercity routes or spanning several states. Load and unload cargo. Record amount and type of cargo being delivered. Take orders for new deliveries. Drive long distances. Fill up on fuel, clean truck, and wash windows. Report to a dispatcher any incidents encountered on the road. Monitor road conditions and watch for traffic congestion. Follow all applicable traffic laws. Inspect their trailer before and after the trip and record any defects they find. Follow accident procedures if an accident occurs. Keep a log of their activities. Report serious mechanical problems to the appropriate personnel. Keep their truck, and associated equipment, clean and in good working order. Plan routes using maps or satellite tracking. Get goods to client on time. Take rest periods during trip. Transport hazardous materials. Take special precautions while driving. Maintain log of trips. SKILLS & EXPERIENCE: Must have valid driver's license Class A, CDL license with Hazmat Endorsement TWIC Card required 2-year CDL License preferred Must be able to pass CETP Desire to grow and accelerate with the company Good customer relations Must have a positive, upbeat attitude WORKING CONDITIONS: Under general supervision, this position is responsible for propane delivery to customer locations in an efficient, punctual, and safe manner while maintaining and improving customer satisfaction. This position requires a CDL license with hazmat and tank endorsements, high school diploma, at least two years of work-related experience, and physical demands that include regular lifting of 60 pounds. Essential Functions: Loads, secures, transports, delivers, and unloads propane / petroleum to and from specified destinations. Inspects vehicle and notifies supervisor of needed equipment, supplies, or routine maintenance. Prepares and maintains records in accordance with regulations and company procedures. Operates truck in accordance to established safety procedures. Engages in daily interaction with customers and provides exceptional customer service by supplying service information and answering inquiries. Assists with sales initiatives. Performs responsibilities in on-call rotation for after hours and weekend emergency deliveries or response. Ensures all DOT requirements are always met. Performs other duties as assigned, including but not limited to yard and plant maintenance or dock work. Qualifications Must have a valid Class A CDL driver's license with Haz Mat & Tanker Endorsement Must provide driving record with under 2 points Deliver goods while operating a tractor-trailer truck, sometimes over intercity routes or spanning several states.
