Description: A top client of TEKsystems is in need of an experienced engineer with a strong understanding of the NYC subway systems or anything comparable. Tis client is looking to incorporate DAS systems into the subway so carriers can purchase pathways to provide cell service throughout the NYC subway systems. This engineer needs to have worked for the MTA previously or something comparable. NO TELECOM EXPERIENCE NEEDED. The ideal candidate has done QC and surveys on subway systems in the past and understands structural and mechanical components that go into the underground railroads. Also, the engineer needs to be strong with design tools like AutoCAD. This is a hybrid role, the office is in midtown. See below for more information. • Create thorough detail and assembly drawings from Design Engineer's layouts to final construction drawings of designs, including: o Plans, elevations and sections o Detail drawings o Schedules o Wiring Diagrams o Mechanical, Electrical, and Plumbing drawings o Architectural drawings • Survey subway stations and tunnels, train yards, buildings, construction sites and other proposed design sites to verify designs, taking notes, photographs, field measurements, etc. when necessary. • Convert electronic documents between various formats (DWG, DGN, DXF, STP, PDF, ZIP, etc.). • Configure, set, organize and maintain layers and drafting standards in CAD. • Assist in creating, updating, and evaluating quality plan procedures relating to engineering drawings and documentation. • Attend design reviews and related project meetings as requested. • Coordinate drafting workload with Design Manager and Design Engineer as needed to support the prevailing work load. • Review and correct all work prior to submitting to the project designers for checking.
