Overview This is a hybrid role, with the expectation that time working will regularly take place inside and outside of a company office. First Citizens Middle Market Banking delivers a range of financial solutions to midsize clients through a relationship banking model. The business offers deposit solutions, loans, treasury services and other banking products to manufacturers, distributors and a wide variety of service industries. The Assistant Vice President underwrites credit exposure for the most complex and largest credit relationships and circumstances and actively manages a Middle Market Banking (MMB) portfolio. Manages portfolio risk and adheres to all regulatory and compliance guidelines. Manages, services, and develops banking relationships through prescribed servicing and sales processes. Identifies emerging credit problems and industry trends. As an Assistant Vice President, this is an opportunity to work within a growing group for a top 20 Bank with significant advancement opportunities both in the department and other functional areas of First Citizen's Commercial Bank. MMB targets companies across most industry sectors that include traditional industries of manufacturing, wholesaling/distribution, transportation/logistics and service businesses. Responsibilities Candidates will work within a team construct to assist and/or take a leadership role in the credit underwriting and portfolio management of diverse debt solutions for middle-market companies. Specifically: (i) debt refinancing for working capital, fixed assets, or real property; (ii) acquisition financing; or (iii) recapitalizations. Candidates will assist in the structuring and underwriting of credits and will manage accounts post close. Specific new business underwriting duties include: i) financial modeling; ii) independent industry research; iii) compiling and presenting approval requests; iv) preparing and negotiating legal documents; and v) funding and closing transactions. Specific portfolio management duties include: i) preparing waiver and amendment requests or underwriting add-on opportunities; ii) monitoring individual accounts for performance trends to ensure accurate and timely risk ratings; and iii) maintaining credit files in preparation for internal or external audits. Ensure compliance with all FCB policies and procedures. Firm understanding of FCB systems and resources. Qualifications Bachelor's Degree and 4 years of experience in Credit analysis, underwriting or Risk Management OR High School Diploma or GED and 8 years of experience in Credit analysis, underwriting or Risk Management. Preferred: Education: Bachelors degree in Business, Economics or Finance. Completed courses relevant to business and financial analysis. At least five years of experience in commercial lending or investing environment. The completion of a formal credit training program is desired but not required. Demonstrated analytical and quantitative skills. Strong expertise with financial modeling and credit analysis. Excellent oral and written communications skills. Time management skills to efficiently handle multiple tasks with changing priorities. Demonstrated ability to anticipate and problem solve to then take initiative to drive processes forward. Detailed knowledge of Microsoft Office Applications. Attention to detail. Ability to function independently and as part of a small deal team. #J-18808-Ljbffr
