Manufacturing Engineer Apprentice

JOB SUMMARY: Plans, directs, and coordinates manufacturing processes in manufacturing plant by performing the following duties. RESPONSIBLITIES/ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS: Interface with Corporate engineering program management for program involvement from inception to safe launch (see Corporate Advance Product Quality Planning book). Part configuration -- Bill of Material Pre-production builds -- Champion builds from scheduling to shipment. PPAP -- Provide all applicable documentation to complete the PPAP package. Safe Launch- Champion launch efforts (see Safe Launch work instructions). Possess knowledge of GD&T To convey to the appropriate department, either by direct contact (meetings, face-to-face) or by electronic means, and requests or concerns that customers may have. This includes, but is not limited to quality, delivery, or scheduling problems that would influence customer satisfaction in any way. To be the voice of the customer to ensure that all customer requirements are met. Limited travel required and must be willing to take off-site courses relevant to this position. Assigned Manufacturing Engineers issues (e.g.): Develops, evaluates, and improves manufacturing methods Initiates and assists in the development of capital expenditures request (PAR's). Manages the acceptance and location of new or relocated program-related capital equipment. Confers with vendors to determine product specification and arrange for purchase of equipment, materials, or parts, and evaluates products according to specifications and quality standards. Advance product quality planning documentation -- work with Quality Engineer to provide input where necessary to the following documents: Flow diagrams, Process FMEA, Production Control Plan and Packaging Other part-specific APQP documentation that may be deemed necessary. Additional duties maybe assigned as needed.
