Grant Thornton is seeking a Not-for-Profit Tax Senior Associate to join the team in Manhattan/New York, Boston Iselin, or DC Metro. As the Not-for-Profit Tax (NFP Tax) Senior Associate, you'll deliver a full range of tax services for your clients in the not-for-profit and healthcare industries - all with the resources, environment and support to help you excel. You'll collaborate with Not-for-Profit Tax team members and conduct basic tax research, develop and supervise staff, prepare more complex tax returns, and assist in client management and practice development activities because together is how we succeed. Your day-to-day may include: Running client engagements from start to finish, which includes planning, executing, directing, and completing tax projects and managing to budget Supervising, training, and mentoring associates and interns on tax projects and assessing performance of staff for engagement reviews; performing in-charge role as needed Reviewing tax returns done by staff and making recommendations on return preparation regarding accuracy and tax savings opportunities; gaining increasing responsibility in review process Researching and consulting on various tax matters; utilizing tax-related software to prepare and process returns and researching tax matters Responding to inquiries from the IRS and other tax authorities Working at a client site, with your team in the office or remotely. Other duties as assigned You have the following technical skills and qualifications: Degree(s) Bachelor's degree in Accounting Years of Experience Two to four years of progressive tax compliance and/or tax consulting experience; experience in public accounting is a plus Certifications CPA preferred Relevant experience Previous tax return review and preparation experience (required) Tax compliance, federal tax returns, and state tax returns Ability to supervise staff and lead projects Strong computer skills including proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, GoSystems Tax software, and CCH Can travel as needed.
