The Highlights: The Production Office Coordinator implements, and oversees all related policies, practices, and compliance for the School of Cinematic Arts through management of the Production Office, with oversight of a student part/time staff team.This includes facilitating student syllabus assigned and independent projects, faculty projects, as well as related disciplinary actions, with coordination, and collaboration across the university as it relates to film production, related grant fund allocation management and providing general advice for students navigating filmmaking across DePaul and the Chicagoland area. What You'll Do: Mentor and train undergraduate and graduate students on SCA processes throughout pre-production and production of filmed media projects with a specific focus on best practices, leveraging local resources, and on-set safety and liability. Advise students and faculty on updates or changes to protocols or policies. Work with grant recipients on process and oversee requests for grant reimbursements. Design and implement student supplemental production materials, communications, and programs related to the various aspects of producing filmed media such as casting, hiring crew, location management, insurance, permitting, and legal concerns as well as communications for policies for the program including Student Production Handbook and other program materials. Includes some content creation and input for management of SCA social media accounts. Oversee the operation of the SCA Production Office including provision and upkeep of production management systems. Train and supervise student workers to execute production authorization procedures and to manage related work such as assistance with communications to faculty and students. Manages day-to-date staff operations with oversight of 2-10 staff, as pertains to the workflow and function of the team, system operations, and scheduling shifts. Assist Manager of Production with additional staff support as needed. What You'll Need: Bachelor degree required 5+ years professional film production experience with 3+ in Producer or Production manager roles 1+ years experience in production local to Chicago 2+ years managing experience Experience working in an academic environment, mentoring and advising students is a plus Expert understanding of the motion picture industry, from conception to completion. Microsoft Office 365 products and platforms (proficiency in Word and basic Excel use required) Adobe Acrobat Experience with project management software tools outside of Office365 Working ability with Canva, Photoshop, iMovie (light video editing) or other creative design software Mac iOS proficiency required Knowledge of Adobe or iMovie is a plus Perks: Working for a stable and well-known University that values diversity and inclusion.
