Description OnlineProxyFleet is the Internet Access Gateway (IAG) for SDO websites, including Amazon retail endpoints. It acts as a reverse proxy, facilitating secure, resilient, and high-performance internet connectivity and routing for SDO websites. As we embark on our journey to modernize our software toward a more performant, leaner, and modular architecture that will scale to the growing needs of Amazon and its services for the coming years, we are seeking an experienced Software Development Engineer to join our team, responsible for maintaining and enhancing our reverse proxy infrastructure. Basic Qualifications 5+ years of non-internship professional software development experience 5+ years of programming with at least one software programming language experience 5+ years of leading design or architecture (design patterns, reliability and scaling) of new and existing systems experience Experience as a mentor, tech lead or leading an engineering team Preferred Qualifications 5+ years of full software development life cycle, including coding standards, code reviews, source control management, build processes, testing, and operations experience Bachelor's degree in computer science or equivalent Have written high performance software using networking protocols such as TCP, SSL, DNS, etc. Experience with Computer Networking, WebServers and Apache and Nginx development. Experience with computer security and intrusion detection development or research. Experience with large-scale data processing and mining. Experience with distributed computing and enterprise-wide systems. Experience or interest in Cloud Computing and other emerging technologies. Experience in communicating with users, other technical teams, and senior management to collect requirements, describe software product features, technical designs, and product strategy. The base pay for this position ranges from $151,300/year in our lowest geographic market up to $261,500/year in our highest geographic market. Pay is based on a number of factors including market location and may vary depending on job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. Amazon is a total compensation company.
