ACP - SouthPark Gastroenterology Job Summary: This individual will function independently in collaboration with a supervisingphysician. The emphasis is on routine office visits, minor office-based procedures and follow-up visits with the patient population. (This is a full time position that will support our GI team at SouthPark, Monday to Friday 8 am to 5 pm) Primary Job Responsibilities/Tasks may include, but not limited to: Seeing all patients of Tryon Medical Partners. Performing initial and periodic medical history and physical examinations. Recording findings of examinations, assessments and plan of care. Performing minor office-based medical and/or surgical procedures. Performing telemedicine services. Writing appropriate prescriptions and administering medications. Responding to patient inquires and requests. Ordering and interpreting laboratory and radiology examinations. Determining treatment plan for patient. Documenting all patient encounters, records observations, interventions, and actions in a medically appropriate and timely manner on the patient's medical record. Consulting with supervising physician as necessary. Working with broader care team to provide services to patients of Tryon Medical Partners. Acts as a patient advocate for the population served. Attending, participating, and contributing to group/practice meetings and development of policies and procedures when requested. Other duties as assigned. Requirements: Education and Certifications: Completion of an accredited physician assistant or nurse practitioner program with appropriate certification exams. Has and maintains current Physician Assistant license with the North Carolina Medical Board or Nurse Practitioner license with the North Carolina Board of Nursing. Must have or be eligible for a DEA license. Eligible for prescriptive authority application through the Board of Nursing or Medical Board in NC required. BLS for healthcare provider from AHA or American Red Cross required with expiration date greater than 90 days from date of beginning practice. Completion of Hepatitis B Vaccine and Flu Vaccine Form will be required. Candidate may decline vaccination through declination form or may provide record of vaccination from previous employer. Completion of TB test will be required. Experience: 1+ year of experience is preferred. Physical Requirements: Work consistently requires walking, standing, sitting, lifting, reaching, stooping, bending, pushing, and pulling. Must be able to lift and support weight of 35 pounds. Ability to concentrate on details. Use of computer for long periods of time.
