We are seeking an Accounting Clerk to join our administrative team in a full time capacity. This position will report to the Controller and assist with day-to-day finance operations and company support. A successful candidate in this role will have excellent time management skills, experience working with Quickbooks and accounting software, a firm understanding of accounting basics, and be able to communicate effectively as part of a team. This role is available immediately and requires reporting to the office, located on the Northside, regularly. The salary for this position begins at $40,000 and may be adjusted based on candidate qualifications. Summary The primary purpose of this position is to maintain accurate and detailed records of financial transactions, particularly related to the accounts payable and receivable functions. This position will report to our main offices, and is an in-person position that typically works Monday through Friday during daylight hours. This role will report to the Controller. Essential Duties and Responsibilities Review and verify invoices for accuracy Enter and upload invoices into the accounting system, ensuring appropriate classification Prepare and process checks for payment Ensure timely payments to vendors and maintain good relationships with them Handle payment inquiries and resolve discrepancies, escalating to upper management as appropriate Issue client invoices and monitor for payment, following up as needed Set up client accounts in the accounting software Monitor the Accounts Receivable inbox for quotes to be converted to invoice, converting quotes into invoices once received (including proper classification and class structure) Issue invoices to clients Follow up on outstanding client invoices, including making collection calls and emails, escalating issues to upper management as appropriate Maintain accurate and organized records of all accounts payable transactions Run ad hoc reports as needed Collaborate with other departments on financial matters, including operations and Human Resources Support the accounting team with additional tasks as needed Perform other duties as assigned Competencies (Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities) Verbal and Written Communication Organization Analytical Skills Sense of Urgency Time Management Attention to Detail Problem-Solving Skills Collaboration and Teamwork Education, Certification(s), and/or License(s) Required Associate's degree in Accounting, Finance or related field In accordance with certain company requirements, Child Protection Clearances may be required Other Requirements: One (1) to three (3) years of experience in Accounts Payable/Receivable, bookkeeping, or related experience Familiarity with accounting software, preferably QuickBooks Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, Google Workspace Must be over 18 Must be able to legally work for this company in the United States Physical Demands and Work Environment: This description is representative of requirements that must be met by an employee to successfully perform essential functions of this job.
