Summary Serves as the Annuities product line leader to drive proactive change in alignment with company strategy. Ultimate accountability for top and bottom-line results for the line. Proactively influence how NM transforms to ensure the end results are additive. Develop a product line growth strategy that leverages our fundamental company advantages and ensures the growth supports our foundational pillars. Ensure execution across the company is done the most efficient manner possible while driving large and complex projects to completion. Lead partnership, proactive influence, and building of trust with field leadership and the field at large to maximize our product line opportunities. Primary Duties and Responsibilities Partner with risk product development strategy to ensure industry leading and financially sound products in alignment with our principles. Partner with risk product competition and positioning to maximize product line conviction and drive change that is adopted by the field. Partner with and proactively influence the Actuarial Department and Investment Strategy Department for final design solutions, pricing/rate setting, state filing, mortality/morbidity studies, strategic asset allocation, and asset/liability matching. Exhibit outside-in mindset regarding industry forces and develop innovative product solutions to meet the future needs of NM clients. Understand the markets in which the product line is most relevant while identifying changes to address new market opportunities. Drive ongoing analysis of and planning for future trends, including occupational, demographic and economic, which may impact the financial results of the product line. Oversee product line financials and analytics. Provide representation and advocacy for one or more product lines in cross-departmental project teams focusing on compliance, supervision, regulatory issues, marketing and sales strategies, cross-selling and financial security planning. Lead within Risk Products by acting as a talent multiplier and leading with enterprise vision while fostering a culture of recognition and continuous learning. Qualifications Bachelor's degree in business or a related field; FSA designation preferred. Demonstrated understanding of the insurance industry, especially in the areas of product, pricing, marketing, customer preferences, marketplace standards, risk assessment, future trends, servicing and claims. High level of knowledge regarding individual and group annuity products, including reinsurance strategies, and demonstrated product management ability. Experience in managing external business relationships with proven results. Demonstrated ability to analyze marketing, financial and consumer data and information to create, develop and implement workable solutions that meet customer needs and achieve financial targets. Strong written and oral skills. Experience in interacting with the field force. People management experience with proven leadership and decision-making skills. Compensation Range: Pay Range - Start: $183,680.00 Pay Range - End: $341,120.00 Northwestern Mutual pays on a geographic-specific salary structure and placement in the salary range for this position will be determined by a number of factors including the skills, education, training, credentials and experience of the candidate; the scope, complexity as well as the cost of labor in the market; and other conditions of employment. At Northwestern Mutual, it is not typical for an individual to be hired at or near the top of the range for their role and compensation decisions are dependent on the facts and circumstances of each case.
