A Brief Overview This full-time Program Manager (PM) manages the activities of several initiatives led by the Principal Investigator (PI) who is the Medical Director of the Children's Hospital of Philadelphia Indigenous Health Unit (CHOP IHU), including overseeing programs, outreach and the strategic plan. These include: (1) the Indian Health Services Emergency Medical Services for Children (IHS EMSC) Hybrid Simulation Program, (2) the U.S. Indigenous pediatric pandemic network disaster preparedness project, and (3) the CHOP IHU community assessment, unit administrative needs and developing the strategic plan. Within this strategic plan, the PM coordinates and supports research, education, clinical and advocacy efforts that are relevant to Indigenous health. This includes working closely with clinicians and healthcare staff and integrating clinical outcomes and quality improvement reporting into CHOP's programs that interface with Indigenous clients. The PM has experience in public health project and program administration and supervision and can support existing programs in the reporting of outcomes and activities in collaboration with key Indigenous partners. Specific administrative support includes coordinating meetings, writing meeting minutes, supporting the PI with organizational tasks and management, writing CHOP IHU, IHS EMSC Hybrid Simulation Program, and Disaster program annual reports, contributing to the CHOP global health weekly newsletter, and recruiting Indigenous people to present at the annual global health conference and quarterly global health lecture series. Specific academic support includes data management and analysis and scholarly manuscript, poster and presentation drafting and editing. The Global Health Center Program Manager manages the activities of the Global Health Center including overseeing and supporting Global Health programs in the Dominican Republic, Botswana and in Philadelphia. This administrator works very closely with the Director of Global Health and is responsive to stakeholders in the Dominican Republic, Botswana and Philadelphia. This person provides oversight to and manages a variety of established and new programs primarily at the CHOP collaborative site in the Dominican Republic, as well as managing the CHOP Pincus Global Health Fellows (2 to 4 per year). This person supports Global Health Center project timelines, provides supervision for reporting on program activities, and is facilitator of communication with collaborators and stakeholders in assigned programs. In this role, the Global Health Program Manager provides support to the daily ongoing activities of the Global Health Center programs as assigned by the Medical Director of Global Health. Such programs include examples such as the Ninos Primeros en Salud clinic program, the Global Health Allies program, the Pincus Global Health Fellowship and the annual CHOP Global Health conference. S/He monitors program reporting, development of new activities and outcomes, and assists in the development and implementation of research projects in the Dominican Republic. S/He provides regular reporting on progress. The Global Health Program Manager is responsible for working closely with clinicians and integrating clinical outcomes and quality improvement reporting into Global Health programs as directed by the Medical Director of Global Health. In addition, the Global Health Program Manager provides ongoing administrative support to the Center, including the development and presentation of the annual global health conference, quarterly lecture series, yearly reports and a weekly newsletter. The Global Health Program Manager has experience in international public health project and program administration and supervision and can support existing programs in the reporting of outcomes and activities in collaboration with key Global Health stakeholders. What you will do Program and project management in the Global Health Center of the institution. At the guidance of the Medical Director of Global Health supervises and manages several projects that all support the vision of Global Health. Overall Global Health Management The Manager works closely with the Director to identify key program priorities and timelines. Becomes knowledgeable in the key program strategic goals and desired outcomes. S/he provides reporting on progress and outcomes. Supports programs at the direction of the Director of Global Health. Is responsible for working collaboratively with local stakeholders in the partner communities to advance the program initiatives. This will require international travel (approximately 20-40% of time) Supports timelines, workflows etc. with identified stakeholders in order to meet the project goals and objectives and provides support to the leadership in the management of the process. Works closely with support departments at CHOP to fully integrate the Global Health programs into the CHOP system. Supports the collaboration with other departments at CHOP to advance Global Health initiatives and also to assure that Global Health programs and projects are guided by existing CHOP policies and procedures. Is responsible for reporting regularly on outcomes for assigned programs and assisting in reaching milestones and deadlines. Communicates directly and regularly with the leadership in the partner communities to maintain and develop strong relationships and effective collaborative management. Provides information and feedback on program progress in the Dominican Republic and assists with communication and program workflows. Supports the financial process for the Dominican Republic programs (prepares invoices, monitors supplies, creates and tracks status of identified budget) in collaboration with the Global Health business manager to provide efficient and appropriate expensing of funds, under the direction of the Director of Global Health. Ability to interpret in Spanish is required in many settings for this job including regular communication with local partners, phone conferences, during in person meetings both in Philadelphia, and in the Dominican Republic. Manages the 2-4 CHOP Pincus Global Health Fellows. There are currently 2 fellows at a time but the fellowship will increase to 4 fellows effective July 2021. PROGRAM MANAGEMENT (EXAMPLES) Global Health Allies Supports the Director of Global Health, CHOP leaders and in-country stakeholders to identify the annual objectives for the program.
