What You Will Do The Aftermarket Process Engineering Manager (M4) will assist with the development, implementation, and execution of current and new repairs at Pratt & Whitney AutoAir site in Lansing, MI.. The person in this role will lead a team of Repair Process Engineers responsible for the management of the composite and bonded metal repair processes on PW engine components. You will also coordinate across the site and various departments to ensure successful execution of repairs. Key Responsibilities: Provide focused & effective leadership in the advancement of repair process activities to drive risk identification and mitigation to achieve desired on time delivery and quality performance. Lead and develop a team of Repair Process (Manufacturing) Engineers responsible for direct support to Operations. Identify & implement process optimization and control methods to eliminate/prevent quality turn backs and escapes and reduce overall repair costs while increasing profits. Significant interaction with shop floor personnel, quality engineers, product designers, tool designers, systems designers, PW Technical Fellows / Subject Matter Experts, and other stakeholders is required. Develop and implement statistical analysis tools to perform root cause analysis and corrective actions on nonconforming product and improve repair process key performance indicators. Management of large projects to include capital spending projects in support of repair industrialization and improvement. Develop standard work and procedures integrating industry best practices. Investigate, evaluate, and implement requirements for equipment, tooling, and material, including make or buy decisions and facility layout as required for new or revised process. Must be able to determine from part drawing, technical data and repair orders the manufacturing methods and processes necessary for the repair and overhaul of parts and assemblies. Demonstrate high level of customer focus, business judgment, adaptability, teamwork and communication skills. Qualifications You Must Have Master's Degree in Engineering with 5+ years of experience in Manufacturing Engineering, Operations, Engineering, or Quality fields; OR Bachelor's Degree in Engineering with 8+ years of relevant experience. U.S. citizenship is required for this position; only U.S. citizens are authorized to access and handle sensitive data required to support our government and military programs. Qualifications We Prefer Degree in STEM field; Mechanical and Aerospace Engineering fields preferred. Personnel management experience in a technical industry; engineering team leadership preferred. FAA Repair Station (MRO) and component repair development experience with fiber-reinforced polymer composites, specifically: fiberglass, aramid, and/or carbon prepreg and wet layup (especially epoxy resin systems) Comprehensive knowledge of advanced Composite and Bonded Structures (i.e.. Organic/Polymer Matrix Composites, Fiber Reinforcement, Manufacturing methods, Adhesives, Surface Preparation, etc.) Experience in automation of composite manufacturing and/or inspection processes. Experience with statistics, data analytics, DOE, and multivariate statistics; Able to use Minitab and other statistical software Experience working with CAD/CAM programs, Solumina MES, SAP ERP, and MS Office Suite. Project management experience and ability to prioritize work in a fast-paced environment. Knowledge of quality tools such as PFMEA, Process Control, Control Build and PPAP. LEAN, Continuous Improvement, CORE, ACE, Six-Sigma training and experience. Ability to communicate at all levels of the organization including senior level management. The salary range for this role is 96,000 USD - 200,000 USD. The salary range provided is a good faith estimate representative of all experience levels.
