With the belief that they were there when we needed them, so we must be there now that they need us , Veterans Inc., the largest provider of supportive services to Veterans and their families in New England is seeking to fill the IT Specialist position and become a valued member of the Veterans Inc. team! Under the supervision of the IT Manager, the IT Specialist's role is to support and maintain computer systems, desktops, peripherals, cell phones, etc. This includes installing, diagnosing, repairing, maintaining, and upgrading all hardware and software while ensuring optimal system performance. This person will also troubleshoot problem areas in a timely and accurate fashion and provide end user training and assistance where required. This position is per diem- meaning it is as-need and there is no guarantee of hours. WHAT YOU'LL BE DOING DAY TO DAY: Software installation and troubleshooting. Set up workstations with computers and necessary peripheral devices (switches, printers etc.) Provide orientation and guidance to users on how to operate new software and computer equipment Provide Tier I/Tier II support for all desktops, laptops, tablets, printers, and other computing equipment. Assign and troubleshoot cellphone issues (iPhones and Android) Assist with junior level network administration Perform onboarding of new employees Respond to technical questions by phone, email requests, tickets and users dropping in at the IT Department Office. Create, change and terminate Microsoft Active Directory and Exchange user and machine accounts. Add, change and terminate access to network resources through file/folder management via group creation, share restrictions, security lists, etc. WHAT YOU MUST HAVE: Minimum of 2-5 years IT support experience in a Windows / Active Directory environment of 50+ users We have multiple office locations - This position requires some travel so reliable transportation and a valid driver's license are required Relevant technical experience in the following areas: Setup, configuration, troubleshooting of desktop/laptop hardware and software WiFi-enabled devices Remove Users Business related desktop/web apps (we expect you may need to learn any specific systems we use) Solid knowledge of Windows10 Professional operating systems, Microsoft Office Suite including Outlook365, MS Teams, Azure MFA, and Active Directory Experience providing support via remote tools Extra consideration given to candidates with: MAC OS Networking fundamentals (TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP) in a LAN (multiple switches + VLAN's) and WAN setting a plus Knowledge of cyberscurity best practices (firewalls, Endpoint Detection & Response software, SPAM filtering) Relevant certifications (A+, Network+, Microsoft Enterprise Desktop Support Technician) a plus Required soft skills: Outstanding Customer Support/Service Skills to include effective communication and strong interpersonal skills required Excellent problem-solving skills Ability to provide step-by-step technical help to users, both written and verbal, in person and over the phone and via remote share session. The ability to successfully pass all Veterans Inc. pre-hire testing including, but not limited to CORI/Background and drug screening Compliance with Veterans Inc. COVID-19 Vaccination Policy.
