Your Opportunity as the Business Development Manager, International: The Business Development Manager (BDM), International, offers you an opportunity to join a passionate team of global sales professionals, bringing the Smucker portfolio of iconic brands to consumers across the globe. As a BDM, you will be the primary point of contact to our international distributors with the objective of building our export business and executing on our key strategic priorities. The incumbent is responsible for business development within the assigned international territory, participates in the design of the business strategy, and coordinates in-market promotional activities. The incumbent actively participates in the creation of the business plan for the short and long term and is responsible for the top line and gross profit results of the market or group of customers. LOCATION Working Remote USA In this role you will: Business Development Responsible for analyzing and recommending the business plan for the regions that could include but is not limited to: Development opportunities for growth and expansion. Brand decisions (introductions or discontinuations). Development of brand portfolio strategy that will balance profit growth with continuous revenue expansion. Trade investment opportunities. Participation in the design of the marketing plan (by market) in collaboration with the International Marketing team, involving local stakeholders, in order to achieve goals and improve brand health. Develop current markets including sales, trade and distributor relationships, brand health, etc. Accomplish sales and profit goals for the fiscal year with a strategic long-term approach. Manage resources to achieve goals related cost center and trade budgets. Maintain a strong relationship with the International Marketing team, Finance and other internal teams. Participate in the setting of pricing and promotional activity for the markets. Participate in special projects such as developing new items for a specific market. Responsible for providing operational forecast. Responsible for the development of the financial plan for the market/region. Monitor changes in cost, supply, quality, etc. that could affect financial results and propose actions to mitigate. Provide monthly financial forecasts to identify gaps to plan. Market visits and Customer contact Responsible for maintaining direct positive contact with the customers and distributors in-person, by email, and in video meetings. Main point of contact for customers and distributors to communicate marketing activities, new products, price actions and negotiate forecasts. Participate in market visits to provide support to the implementation of programs or to reinforce the relationship with the customer. Maintain our customers and distributors motivation to promote our brands in their market place. Represent the company Maintain the reputation of the Company and its brands. Develop local relationships with distributors, brokers and customers. Represent the Company and its Basic Beliefs to the external market. Global intelligence Ensure the Company remains informed of any trends regarding new products, new packaging, as well as new ways to trade, shop or consume our categories or adjacent categories. Ensure the Company remains informed of changes in the retail environment, competition and merger and acquisition (M&A) activity. Ensure the Company remains informed of any political changes, including taxes, regulations, opportunities and possible conflicts.
