By joining our team as a senior professional engineer, you'll be a lead technical engineer on rail structural design projects and perform complex structural analysis and design. We'll ask you to assist with planning, analysis, design, plan preparation, specification development, quantity and cost estimating, and report writing. We regularly work with geotechnical, highway, and hydraulic engineers so you will use your general understanding of those disciplines to coordinate project work. Provide regional and/or multi-sector leadership to ensure structural engineering subject matter, technical deliverables, building and infrastructure projects and programs are delivered with a level of quality that meets or exceeds acceptable industry standards for design, safety, structural soundness, and functionality. Provide proactive and strategic leadership for the structural engineering discipline and function, offering direction, expertise, and support to ensure project and work site deliverables are successfully achieved within the business sector. We'll expect you to assist on rail projects to ensure that goals or objectives of these projects are accomplished within prescribed time frame and funding parameters. Be involved in projects with our Transportation Structures and Design-Build Oversight Teams and be a part of a growing organization that meets our client's objectives and solves their challenges. One way you will continue to develop professionally, is when we ask you to be active in technical societies and be available to attend meetings or events outside of normal working hours. You will be responsible for the pursuit and development of business and the successful execution of work for current and potential buildings and infrastructure work within a geography specifically for the large projects within the area. Lead larger-scale more complex structural engineering projects ensuring contributors know what they are required to do and by when, preparing and overseeing relevant project budgets, monitoring external events, tracking hours and expenses, ensuring satisfactory performance, and supervising subcontractors, contract work, and employees. Provide proactive and strategic leadership for the structural engineering discipline and function, offering direction, expertise, and support to ensure project and work site deliverables are successfully achieved within the business sector. • BS in Civil Engineering • Professional Engineer (PE) licensed in NY (multi-state preferred). • Substantial years of relevant post education experience in engineering, structural/civil and infrastructure design. • Knowledge of construction drawing standards • Competent in using building Code and understanding of ACI and AISC provisions • Proficient in using STAAD, SAP, RAM Steel to analyze building structures • Competent in using AutoCAD and MicroStation and ability utilize REVIT or Bentley in BIM • Skilled in using MS word, Excel, and PowerPoint • Experience within Transportation industry and Understanding of AREMA • Excellent communication skills • Ability to work on multiple projects • Self-starter and can work independently Here's what you'll need: • MS in Civil Engineering with focus on Structural Engineering is preferred Jacobs is an Equal Opportunity/Affirmative Action Employer.
