A 6 billion dollar credit fund is looking to hire a Controller. This firm's been around for a few years and is currently in growth mode. Founded by top people from some of the most well known firms has propelled this company to their AUM in a short period of time. This position will work directly for the CFO of the firm. The position is open due to growth. Job- Controller Looking for: - 6-12 years of experience, coming from either a hedge fund or private equity fund any strategy -Exposure to much much more than just Accounting as this person will be able to see and do everything that sits under finance. -3 days in office! -Compensation up to 350k (including bonus) [Your Company Name] is a leading investment firm specializing in direct lending. We offer investors access to attractive returns through a diversified portfolio of loans to established businesses. We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Controller to join our growing team. Responsibilities: Oversee the entire accounting function for the direct lending fund, ensuring accurate and timely financial reporting in accordance with GAAP. Manage monthly, quarterly, and annual closing processes, including reconciliations, journal entries, and preparation of financial statements. Work closely with the fund administrator to ensure accurate recording of investment activity, capital transactions (subscriptions, capital calls, redemptions, distributions), and management fees. Calculate and track key fund metrics, including Net Asset Value (NAV), Internal Rate of Return (IRR), and portfolio performance. Prepare and review investor capital account statements and distribute them on a timely basis. Support the preparation of tax filings and work with external auditors during the annual audit process. Maintain a strong understanding of relevant accounting standards (GAAP) and regulatory requirements for direct lending funds. Identify opportunities to improve financial reporting processes and internal controls. Manage and mentor junior accounting staff. Qualifications: CPA or equivalent designation preferred. Minimum 7+ years of experience in fund accounting, preferably within a hedge fund or private equity of fund or any strategy (Credit not a requirement) Strong understanding of GAAP principles as applied to private investment funds. Proven experience with financial reporting for complex investment structures. Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills with a high degree of accuracy and attention to detail. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively with internal and external stakeholders. Benefits: Competitive salary and benefits package.
