Job Summary: The Loan Officer is responsible for evaluating, authorizing, recommending approval of, and closing loan applications for consumer, residential, commercial, and agricultural loan customers. Primary Duties: Contact companies or individuals to market the products and services of the Bank and actively solicit new loans Develop client relationships as a trusted advisor, recommending value added products/services Meet with loan applicants to gather personal financial information and answer questions about the application process Explain different types of loans and the terms of each type to applicants Obtain, verify, and analyze the applicant's financial information Review loan agreements to ensure that they comply with federal and state regulations Approve loan applications or refer them to management for a decision Communicate with loan processing and servicing staff regarding the status of pending or existing loans Explain and collect required loan documentation during loan closing Answer customer inquiries throughout the life of the customer's loan Contact borrowers who fail to make their payments on time to recover uncollected debt Act as an ambassador for the Bank by participating in community, civic, and philanthropic activities within the Bank's primary market area Comply with all lending laws, regulations, policies, and procedures Other duties as assigned by supervisor QUALIFICATIONS AND EDUCATION REQUIREMENTS High School Diploma or GED equivalent required Prefer Bachelors' Degree in a field related to Accounting, Finance, Economics, or Business Administration Prefer those who have obtained a Mortgage Loan Originator license Minimum of 2-5 years of previous lending experience required Years of experience may be substituted for education requirements or related work experience This job requires skills needed in a typical office environment. This includes computer skills, communication skills, as well as utilization of office equipment Branch Hours Lobby: M-F 8:30 AM - 4:30 PM Saturday 9:00 AM - 12:00 PM Drive-Up: M-F 8:00 AM - 5:30 PM Saturday 9:00 AM - 12:00 PM
