FLSA Status: Exempt Approved Date: 09.24.2024 Job Title: Director of Finance (Plymouth, MI) Department: Finance Summary: The Director of Finance is responsible for all financial aspects of Loc Performance and reports directly to the Chief Financial Officer. The position requires excellent interpersonal, communication (oral and written), and supervisory management skills, as well as excellent knowledge, skill, and ability in every phase of financial management. The Director of Finance will play a critical role in partnering with the senior leadership team in strategic decision making and execution. Supervisory Responsibility This position directly supervises the following positions: Plant Controllers (4): responsible for all operational financial management Financial Reporting Manager: responsible for all external and internal financial reporting requirements Corporate Accounting Manager: responsible for all AR, AP, and related treasury functions Carries out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with the organization's policies and applicable laws. Responsibilities include interviewing, hiring, and training employees; planning, assigning, and directing work; appraising performance; rewarding and disciplining employees; addressing complaints and resolving problems. Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following. Other duties may be assigned Responsible for all financial reporting, budgeting, forecasting, and special projects Execute on strategic and financial direction provided by the Executive Leadership Team Enhance and/or develop, implement, and enforce financial policies and procedures through systems that will improve the overall operation and effectives of the company Part level margin analysis and reporting around profitability to drive focus on customer/product/part profitability Ensure financial accuracy for all reporting Analyze and communicate operating results, highlighting variances and root causes Support of continuous improvement objectives Direct inventory accuracy including updating costing rates, tracking variances, addressing issues timely, etc Drive net working capital improvements throughout the company Develop budgets that align with company and ownership objectives, including coordination with other departments and specific plans to execute budget objectives. Analyze patterns in company spending, revenue, and recommend solutions to any problem areas Be a Plex ERP leader driving change as needed to improve processes and use of system On-site management at each Loc facility to work with plant Finance and local management teams (operations, engineering, etc.). Directs and assists in the completion of special projects, as needed. Competencies To perform the job successfully, an individual will need to perform the following competencies. Adherence to Policy Follow quality environmental policies and have knowledge of AS9100 and IS14001. Adherence to Safety Follow safety procedures, security protocol, and wear proper PPE. Education and/or Experience B.S. in accounting or finance CPA experience a plus but not required Minimum of 5 years in a manufacturing FP&A or plant controller role Ability to handle and prioritize multiple projects High level of proficiency in Microsoft Excel and ERP systems Defense industry experience a plus but not required Knowledge of Federal Acquisition Regulation (FAR) and Cost Accounting Standards (CAS) is a plus but not required Reasoning Ability Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form. Ability to deal with problems involving several concrete variables in standardized situations. A high proficiency in data manipulation in Microsoft Excel or similar programs is also required.
