Manufacturing Engineer US-PA-Lancaster Job ID: Type: Employee # of Openings: 1 Category: Engineering/R&D US-PA-Lancaster-81 Overview In this role you will responsible for tooling selection, tool trouble shooting, CNC program development and maintenance, time studies, product routing maintenance, and general shop floor support. Responsibilities ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following. Other duties may be assigned. Follows all applicable ISO-9001 procedures relating to the duties of the Manufacturing Engineering Department and any associated manufacturing operations. Follows all applicable departmental and shop safety rules. Prepares charts, graphs, and diagrams to illustrate workflow, routing, floor layouts, material handling, and machine utilization. Develops, evaluates, and improves manufacturing methods. Proposes, designs, acquires all necessary special process gages for all manufacturing processes Confers with vendors to determine product specifications and arrange for purchase of equipment, materials, or parts and evaluates products according to specifications and quality standards. Maintains technical expertise in the operation of all manual and CNC machine tools. Programs, reads and operates NC Programs. Participates in the training of operators on the technical operation of manufacturing equipment. Helps develop, outline, coordinate and implement technical training of salaried and hourly employees for production equipment in the manufacturing environment. Ability and skill to perform as production process troubleshooting expert for all the elements of the manufacturing production process. Justifies new equipment proposals, participates in equipment acquisition and provides complete work station start up. This includes all necessary workplace design, operator process documentation, operator training and evaluation, and any other duties in order to provide a complete startup of all aspects of the operational work center. Acts as a liaison between Manufacturing Engineering and Product Engineering to ensure that product design is consistent with efficient manufacturing methods. Recommends revision of methods of operation or material handling, alterations in equipment layout, or other changes to increase production or improve standards. Performs time studies on all production equipment or indirect labor operations. EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE Bachelors degree B.S. from four-year college or university; and one to three years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience. LANGUAGE SKILLS Ability to read, analyze, and interpret common scientific and technical journals, financial reports, and legal documents. Ability to respond to common inquiries or complaints from customers, regulatory agencies, or members of the business community. Ability to write speeches and articles for publication that conform to prescribed style and format. Ability to effectively present information to top management, public groups, and/or boards of directors. MATHEMATICAL SKILLS Ability to apply advanced mathematical concepts such as exponents, logarithms, quadratic equations, and permutations. Ability to apply mathematical operations to such tasks as frequency distribution, determination of test reliability and validity, analysis of variance, c rrelation techniques, sampling theory, and factor analysis. REASONING ABILITY Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions. Ability to interpret an extensive variety of technical instructions in mathematical or diagram form and deal with several abstract and concrete variables. COMPUTING SKILLS Ability to effectively utilize word processing software and spreadsheets and to navigate and use other custom applications software in a MS Windows environment.
