Controller

Responsibilities: Planning, directing and coordinating all accounting operational functions (payroll, AP, AR, route, GL). Hiring, training and retaining skilled accounting staff Team leadership - clarifying roles and responsibilities, strengthening internal communications Managing the accumulation of all financial data necessary for an accurate accounting of business results Coordinating and preparing internal financial statements Budget process management Coordinating activities of external auditors Providing management with information vital to the decision-making process. Developing and monitoring business performance metrics. Provide financial analysis and insights to support decision-making by senior management. Assessing current accounting operations, offering recommendations for improvement and implementing new processes Evaluating accounting and internal control systems Maintains and documents accounting software and supporting database, as needed Overseeing regulatory reporting, frequently including tax planning and compliance Requirements: Proven working experience as a Controller or in a similar senior financial management role. Thorough knowledge of accounting principles and procedures. Experience with creating financial statements, general ledger functions, and the month-end/year-end close process. degree in Accounting; CPA or CMA will be a plus. Proficiency in accounting software and MS Office (especially Excel). Strong analytical and problem-solving skills. Excellent communication and leadership abilities. High attention to detail and accuracy. Ability to manage and mentor a team effectively. A minimum of 5-10 years of accounting experience, preferably in a leadership role or senior accounting position.
