Position Title: Maintenance Technician Location: Wilson, NC Description: Our maintenance technician supports Mativ's plant machinery and equipment. This individual will be responsible for the safe and effective maintenance in accordance to the requirements of the production schedule. This position repairs and maintains machinery and mechanical equipment such as motors, pneumatic tools, pneumatic conveyor systems, and production machines. responsibilities: * Follow all company established methods, policies, rules, practices, and procedures to ensure employee safety, product quality and efficient operations. * Observes mechanical devices in operation, listens to their sounds to locate causes of trouble and may start devices to test their performance. * Dismantles devices to gain access to and remove defective parts. * Examines form and texture of parts to detect imperfections. * Inspects used parts to determine changes in dimensional requirements. * Adjusts functional parts of devices and control instruments. * Repairs or replaces defective parts and lubricates and cleans parts. * Sets up and operates lathe, drill press, grinder, and other metalworking tools to make and repair parts. * Initiates purchase order for parts and machines. * Repairs electrical equipment * Install special functional and structural parts in devices. * Sets up and operates lathe, drill press, grinder, and other metalworking tools to make and repair parts. * Initiates purchase order for parts and machines. * Repairs electrical equipment. Maintains, inspects, troubleshoots and repairs: electrical, electronic, pneumatic controls, hydraulic controls, and equipment throughout the facility. Tests and diagnoses malfunctioning machinery, and reviews diagnosis for proper corrective action with other maintenance workers such as mechanics and supervisors. Capable of reading and interpreting electrical schematics. Diagnose electric motor, motor control, and device control problems. Work is in all inside and outside areas of the plant and is often exposed to heat, cold, inclement weather, high noise level, dust, chemicals, grease, oil, and "dirty" working conditions. Operates various equipment, machine tools, portable power and hand tools consistent with skill level and job assignment. Accessing elevated areas where working on ladders and portable work platforms may be required. qualifications: Required High School diploma or equivalent with 3-5 years electrical and mechanical experience (preference given to experience in manufacturing environment) Electrical certification preferred (high voltage) Ability to recognize electrical symbols and read electrical schematics Ability to use multimeter and clamp on ammeters for function and accuracy Mechanical AND Electrical equipment experience with ability to recognize and correct any system Basic knowledge of DC/AC motors and controls Knowledge of basic machine mechanics Knowledge of 3 phase power and circuits Basic computer skills Basic math skills Read and comprehend English Preferred Industrial Electrical experience preferred Familiarity with PLC's and basic trouble shooting Position Demands Conditions are that of a manufacturing environment: Air Temperatures can range from cold to hot. Atmosphere may contain dust, fumes, and odors. Employees are required to wear Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) including: Safety shoes (steel toe or composite toe) Safety Glasses Protective Gloves, when performing certain tasks Hearing Protection, when required Other personal protective equipment as required for certain tasks. While performing the duties of this job the employee must meet the physical demands: Be able to lift up to 50 pounds. Perform repetitive tasks. Routinely stand, sit, hear, walk, and talk. Reach, climb, bend, kneel, crouch, twist, and balance, sometimes in awkward or tight spaces. Have good close vision, depth perception, and the ability to focus.
