Registered Nurse Operating Room Residency Program - START DATE: January 6th, 2025Covering several Community Hospital locations throughout the network from Greenwood to East, Heart and Vascular, North and HowardAbout the program•The program is a full-time, paid, six-month long orientation into the operating room (OR) that will focus on both theory and skill; with supportive instructions, demonstrations and clinical experience necessary to actively scrub and circulate on a variety of surgical procedures•Monday-Friday, Variable day hours during the six-month long orientation, primarily working (5) 8-hour days/week. 40-hour per week commitment. (No scheduled time off will be granted during the orientation due to the intensity of the program.)•The program offers integrated learning experiences of classroom instruction, followed by hands-on clinical rotations in the OR department where the candidate is hired. Participants are exposed to both the circulating and the scrub roles, under the direction of experienced and skilled on-site preceptors•The program will utilize Association of Perioperative Registered Nurses (AORN) Peri-op 101 curriculum•Selected applicants will be hired to work at their respective locationsClassroom•Classroom lectures include - but are not limited to - aseptic technique, prepping, gowning, gloving, instrument names, suture selection, laparoscopic procedures and draping•Candidates will attend core circulating and scrub classes throughout the six-month program. Please keep in mind, time off is NOT grantedduring BOTH 3-week classroom periods.•Lectures specific to each surgical department will occur at each respective hospital locationClinical Experience•Circulating rotation for 11 weeks at the site where the candidate has been hired•Scrub rotation for 10 weeks at the site where the candidate has been hiredRequirements•Graduate of NLN, ACEN or CCNE accredited school of nursing, or three years related professional nursing experience. •Must have a current and valid license as a Registered Nurse to practice in the state of Indiana as listed in the Nurse Licensure Compact (NLC) OR if a new RN graduate, will have 45 days to sit for their NCLEX exam upon hire.Ranked among the nation's most integrated healthcare systems, Community Health Network is Central Indiana's leader in providing convenient access to exceptional healthcare services, where and when patients need them - in hospitals, health pavilions and doctor's offices, as well as workplaces, schools and homes.
