Overview: Diagnostic Technologist (Fluoroscopy) - Stony Brook Anaesthesiology, UFPC Location: Lake Grove, NY Schedule: Per Diem Days/Hours: Monday - Friday; hours vary Pay: $40.79 - $46.63 Our compensation philosophy aims to provide marketable compensation programs and to compensate employees based on relevant experience and education. Responsibilities: SUMMARY: The Diagnostic Fluoroscopy Technologist provides high quality individualized direct patient care utilizing the skills and knowledge of the profession. The employee and representative of the department of anesthesia. The technologist must work efficiently and professionally in diagnostic radiological support of interventional pain procedures. Job Duties & Essential Functions: Perform Diagnostic Radiological (Fluoroscopy) procedures at a technical level. Ensure proper patient positioning: prone vs. spine, use of cervical headrest and knowledge of interventional pain procedures. Proper alignment of the C-Arm for procedure for interventional pain procedures. Ensure time out procedure is observed. Assumes responsibility for designated areas or procedures, as required. Selects proper technical factors on an individual patient basis. Selects and operates equipment as directed. Provides protection in accordance with prescribed safety standards. Practice sterile techniques and prevents cross contamination. Responsible for delegating areas of authority in the performance of routine or special procedures. May be responsible for specific areas of instruction in the school of technology and ancillary personnel. In the absence of a supervisor or senior technologist, he/she may be designated as acting supervisor. Assist in performing first aid. Conduct periodic quality control tests. Participate or conduct research in required specialty. Maintain adequate records as directed. Cooperates with all personnel in the proper conduct of the department. Participate in in-service programs. Participate in annual recertification training, compliance training, HIPPA training. Perform all other related duties as assigned by management. Qualifications: Required Qualifications: The candidate must have a high school diploma and be a graduate of an accredited Radiology program. Licensed by the state of New York in Diagnostic Radiology ARRT Registration. Basic Life Certification (BLS) from the American Heart Association or able to obtain within 3 months of employment. One year experience in the field of radiology is preferred, however not required. Must have excellent communications skills. Physical Demands: The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job. While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to communicate with patients, staff and medical providers. The employee must be able to exchange accurate information in these situations. This position is active and requires the employee to constantly move about in the office to assist patients, staff and medical providers. Any additional physical demands will be outlined and provided by management.
