We are currently seeking a Senior Program Manager to support our growing team in the Virginia Beach area. Position Summary As a Senior Program Manager, you will oversee the vision, planning, execution, and success of the Construction Management and Inspection Department (CMCI), in addition, the program manager will provide additional construction services, including constructability review, and geotechnical engineering consulting across the National Capital Region Essential Duties and Responsibilities Develop and oversee the implementation of a strategy for the growth of the Construction Management and Inspection Department (CMCI). Identify and develop new business opportunities relative to the CMCI market and Geotechnical Engineering Consulting. Establish project fees, revenue projections, and profit margins for the Department. Establish financial performance goals and execute that plan to achieve these goals to ensure growth. Allocate resources to ensure an efficient, timely, and quality project is provided while achieving profit margin goals. Mitigate the effects of deviations to the department's budget. Prepare proposals for large-scale or highly complex engineering projects. Supervise and provide technical leadership to transportation engineering Project Managers. Responsible for the overall talent development of current and future staff within the Department. Interface with project owners, clients, and/or contractors on behalf of Alpha Corporation. Perform quality assurance reviews and ensure the quality standards of the Transportation Engineering Department are upheld. Always maintain excellent customer satisfaction levels by timely addressing client concerns. Cooperate, participate, and encourage the participation of others in corporate and outside professional development programs. All other duties as assigned. Certificates, Licenses, Registrations. Prepare proposals and " lead presentations " for large-scale or highly complex engineering, " and CEI projects ." Required Skills / Abilities Strong client management skills coupled with the ability to cultivate existing and new clients and expand business relationships and opportunities. Must possess strong project financial and core business management skills with proven ability to grow a profitable business unit. Exceptional presentation, oral, and written communication skills are required. Prior involvement in professional memberships and related networking organizations. Proven track record of performance in obtaining new clients and in generating new projects with existing clients. Education and/or Experience Bachelor's degree (master's preferred) in Civil Engineering is required. 10 years minimum of demonstrated leadership, project management, and client relations experience with an emphasis on roadway design. Prior experience with VDOT, state, and local jurisdictions. Must be a registered professional engineer (PE) in at least one of the following and able to obtain by reciprocity: Virginia, Maryland, and/or the District of Columbia Physical Demands The incumbent in this position can typically expect to sit and use his/her hands to handle and feel for more than 2/3 of the day. He/she can expect to stand or walk for more than 1/3 of the day. Talking and listening are also expected for more than 2/3 of the day. The ability to climb or balance, stoop, kneel, crouch or crawl, or reach with arms will be needed for less than 1/3 of the day. This position requires that the incumbent be able to lift items up to 20 pounds on an infrequent basis. The incumbent in this position should have clear vision at 20 inches or less. He/she should be able to view various reports and forms as well as information displayed on a computer monitor and have the ability to distinguish between different colors. Depth perception, peripheral vision, the ability to focus, and the ability to see for a distance are also necessary.
