Job Summary: The Department of Medicine (DOM) Internal Medicine Residency Program is recruiting a Graduate Medical Education (GME) Program Manager to support the day-to-day administration of the residency program and ensure program compliance within established accreditation regulations. The Internal Medicine Residency Program includes more than 100 post-graduate trainees (residents) and is supported by an innovative and highly skilled team of staff and faculty. Under the direction of the GME Administrator, the Program Manager will work collaboratively with the residency education staff team, the Residency Program Director, multiple Associate Program Directors, Chief Residents, and the DOM Assistant Director of Education. They will collaborate closely with the curriculum Chief to facilitate learning sessions for residents, manage and facilitate Clinical Competency Committee (CCC) meetings in partnership with the Associate Program Director who chairs the CCC, and manage evaluation delivery/updates/completion tracking. The Program Manager will assist with developing and maintaining the educational quality of the training program and ensure that GME policies and procedures, and other regulatory requirements are met. The person in this position will interface regularly with faculty, trainees, and other staff in the DOM and GME office. The position requires someone who is self-directed with a high degree of professionalism, outstanding organizational skills, attention to detail, excellent verbal and written communication skills, flexibility, and the ability to prioritize multiple competing deadlines. The individual working in this position will benefit from prior experience working for an academic medical institution, interest in and knowledge of Graduate Medical Education, and experience managing projects, curricular activities, and/or events for adult learners and faculty. Responsibilities: Manages the administrative activities of the residency/fellowship program as outlined in the accreditation program requirements and other regulatory agencies. Responsible for ensuring residents/fellows meet administrative and regulatory responsibilities while serving as the primary liaison between the Program Director, residents/fellows, program faculty, institutional Graduate Medical Education (GME) office, and affiliated teaching sites concerning program matters. Must demonstrate a broad knowledge of GME practices and principles, make recommendations and implement changes approved by program leadership, and may supervise or lead the work of others to ensure their programs achieve and maintain the highest quality standards in GME. Works under general supervision of the GME Programs Administrator, Department Administrator, or their designee, and in consultation and collaboration with the Program Director and the sponsoring institution's DIO and Director of Graduate Medical Education. 20% Maintains a thorough understanding of accreditation program requirements and related policies, regulatory requirements, and hospital and program policies to provide expert consult to the Program Director to maintain accreditation and compliance with regulatory bodies and pertinent policies 35% Collaborates with the Program Director to assess curriculum and evaluations, developing the structure and delivery mechanism, and maintaining accurate records of curriculum, evaluations, and participation 5% Provides guidance for resident/fellow recruitment, credentialing, and onboarding to maintain compliance with regulatory bodies and hospital policies 10% Serves as the primary contact for the program, liaising with those directly associated with the program, the Institutional GME Office, and regulatory agencies. Advises residents/fellows, program staff/faculty of program and institutional policies and procedures 5% Regularly attends monthly program coordinator meetings and GME educational offerings. Collaborates with other colleagues to develop best practices, and serves as an administrative reviewer of other GME programs. Should regularly attend national GME or specialty conference(s) 5% Maintains the resident/fellow and program expenditures. Qualifications: Required: - Administrative support experience, to include some project coordination/management, preferably in a health care environment or academic medical center - Demonstrated excellent written and verbal communication skills - Proficient in Microsoft Suite and highly adept at using software applications such as video conferencing platforms, presentation programs, calendaring systems, etc. Preferred: - Knowledge of Accreditation Council for Graduate Medical Education (ACGME) policies and procedures Work Type: Full Time: 100% This position may require some work to be performed in-person, onsite, at a designated campus work location. Some work may be performed remotely, at an offsite, non-campus work location. Appointment Type, Duration: Ongoing/Renewable Salary: Minimum $75,000 ANNUAL (12 months) Depending on Qualifications The starting salary for the position is $75,000 but is negotiable based on experience and qualifications.
