Description As an Account Executive, you will be the senior client contact for servicing and retention of existing clients according to agency and department procedures and standards. In addition, you will support the sales team with newly acquired clients. Responsible for leading the new and current account process and strategy on bonding programs, identifying and recommending program size and markets, and preparing and presenting proposals to clients and prospects. Negotiate directly with underwriters and carriers in the brokerage and placement of new and current business. This individual will also assist in growing the current book of surety business, through new business and cross selling the insurance book. Possess a high attention to detail and strong technical property and casualty insurance knowledge base. Essential Duties & Responsibilities Strategic point of contact for client questions, contract reviews and deliverables. Answer client questions on applications and requested information. Understands the client's business objectives and leads the development of custom solutions to address the client/prospect needs. Effectively presents the solutions to the client/prospect and negotiates compensation. Builds and maintains effective and sustainable relationships with clients on an enterprise- wide basis. Identifies key decision makers, clients or prospects risks needs and determines the services, products, and combinations that will best serve and address the client/ prospect's issues and objectives. Maintain carrier relationships to develop and support an understanding of the construction surety marketplace. Negotiate with company underwriters. Prepare and/or check market submissions. Responsible for the marketing of assigned accounts, obtaining and evaluating bond programs, and determining and recommending markets. Account Executive should be on Powers of Attorney (POA's), they are responsible for getting themselves approved by the carrier and listed on the POA's Request and review client documents such as financial statements, work-in-progress, aging of receivables schedules, verifying document accuracy and delivery, etc. Presents proposals to existing clients and proposal responses for prospective clients. Determines final negotiating points, and binds coverages. Recommend additional products and services to client. Responsible for reviewing, overseeing, and quality checking the work of AA's and AM's Acts as a visible leader in an industry and actively participates in industry associations, organizations, boards and charities, as appropriate. Responsible for following with clients on invoice collections (receivables) and working with accounting to keep up to date on client billings Skills, Knowledge & Abilities Strong technical property and casualty knowledge. Ability to present and clearly explain the details of bonding programs to clients. Strong background in account management, servicing, placement and negotiation of surety programs. Superb interpersonal skills, both verbal and written. Ability to organize, prioritize, monitor and control workflow deadlines. Education & Licensing Requirements Bachelor's degree preferred or related work experience Home State P&C Insurance License & license in states you are servicing clients Preferred underwriting experience of at least 3 years *Salary range starting at $120,000, commensurate with experience
