We are seeking Medical Assistant (MA, CMA, RMA, CCMA, LPN) to join our fast-paced Pulmonary Clinics : •The Pulmonary Clinic offers a broad array of diagnostic and management skills in treating adult patients with advanced pulmonary diseases, pulmonary fibrosis, lung cancer and asthma. •Provide a remarkable patient experience, as you may be one of the first people a patient interacts with at their appointment. •Responsible for important preparation work like taking vitals, noting patients needs and concerns, and assisting with clinic procedures and exams. •Provide quality care in a compassionate and patient-family centered environment. •Promote healthy lifestyles, wellness, and education Minimum Requirements: Facility Requirement: Traveler must have permanent address outside 50 mile radius of Madison (address must be included in traveler's profile including resume, medefis portal, onboarding documents). Experience: Minimum two years experience required as Certified Medical Assistant. Traveler must have ambulatory or clinic experience including rooming patients. Epic experience highly preferred. Prior traveler experience required. Licensure and Certification: Certified as CMA, RMA, CCMA, or LPN. BLS must be certified through American Heart Association ONLY Education: High School Diploma or equivalent Completion of an accredited Medical Assistant program or In lieu of the above requirements, two (2) years of recent Medical Assistant experience and current CMA, RMA or CCMA certification. Reference Needs 2 completed references from recent work environment/assignments (supervisor or manager only for work performed in the last two years). Floating Travelers are the first to float to floors working with children up to 1 year of age and/or based on the traveler's competency skills/experience. The Traveler may have shifts scheduled in multiple units, depending on the current staffing needs and/or different locations within the organization. During the travelers assignment, if the primary unit no longer has a need, shifts will be re-assigned to another unit in order to complete contract. Location : Floating between 600 Highland Avenue, Madison, WI AND 202 S Park Street, Madison Parking: Permit required through UW Transportation for 600 Highland Ave, free parking for S Park Street Position Urgency: Quick Start Shifts: 40 hrs/week, Days, 8 hr shifts, Monday - Friday between the hours of 8:00am - 5:00pm depending on clinic needs. No weekends. You will be taking a 20 strip exam to demonstrate that competency and must get an 80% on the test and correctly identify our 4 lethal rhythms (Asystole, V-Tach, V-fib, and 3rd Degree AV Block) Attached-(Uploaded to our existing documents) is a study guide and practice test similar to what you will take on Monday. You could also consider utilizing the link below as a review. **Please note that it looks like you have to pay a fee, but that is ONLY if you want the contact hours, you can skip paying and do the review for free. It will only take you approximately 2 hours, but will have you prepared for the exam. As a reminder, you are required to pass the exam prior to starting your assignment here. Please make sure to review anything you are not comfortable with prior to coming to UW Health. *******All agency travelers must demonstrate competency in interpretation of cardiac rhythms before your orientation begins. Previous completion of PALS, ACLS, etc. is not acceptable as a demonstration of this competency. Instead, you will be expected to satisfactorily complete a 20 question test which consists of multiple choice questions and write-in rhythm identification. You must pass with an overall score of 80% and correctly identify 100% of the 4 life-threatening rhythms for your patient population (adult or peds).
