Bon Secours seeks people that are committed to our values of compassion, human dignity, integrity, service, and stewardship to create an environment where associates want to work and help communities surance Authorization Specialist (IAS) - Physician Office - Cardiology Associates of VA - Reynolds - Richmond, VAPRIMARY FUNCTION/GENERAL PURPOSE OF POSITIONWorks directly with the Office Coordinator, Clinical Coordinator, as well as Physicians to handle all functions of daily operations. Schedule patients, intakes, and manage referrals. Check-in patients, answer phone in polite and timely manner, register patients, medical records, co-pay collections and deposits. Must provide the highest level of customer service and professionalism to patients and co-workers. Proficient in current software and maintains daily, weekly, and monthly reports for support staff as directed by supervisors. Works closely with all members of the Physicians team to achieve financial and program objectives.ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:Answering the phone, co-pay collections, deposits, medical records and keeping patient files up to date and , editing, updating, and building the therapist and patient schedules to maximize efficiency and minimize downtimeAssists in invoicing system by scanning and e-mailing invoices to accounts payable.Responsible for registering patients in a timely manner.Prepares and submits insurance forms, obtains authorizations and any additional documentation in accordance with requirements of insurance companies and contracted clients.Ensures accurate and timely payment posting and reconciliation of billing.Assists in the preparation of financial and billing reports on a regular basis and as requested.Maintains confidentiality in working with all patient accounts, insurance, and financial information always.
