Arcadis is seeking to hire a Resident Engineer to join our team to work on projects for NYC Parks within the five boroughs of NYC. This position will to work full-time, with opportunities for overtime. This role will oversee contractors on our street and sidewalk program and may be called to work on our street team planting team. Having a personal vehicle is a mandatory requirement for the role. Role accountabilities: Inspect, supervise, and control construction daily for overall site safety, permit condition compliance and coordination with other City Agencies. Inspect, supervise, and control the performance of the Work to ensure contractor adherence to technical requirements and overall responsiveness and effectiveness. Review and understand line items in the contract including going over daily item amounts Conduct on site measurements, quantity tracking and design work prior to and during active construction activities. Maintain daily, weekly, and expert tracking records. Hold and attend field meeting with both contractor and owner to discuss progress, schedule and work remaining. Function as an ambassador for the City's urban forest resources during interaction with the City's residents and landowners. Administer all H&S procedures as required by the owner and as detailed in the H&S manual. Willingness to work in Manhattan and Staten IslandQualifications & Experience: 2+ years of related experience in construction and/or civil engineering. Bachelor's Degree in Civil Engineering or Construction Management, or closely related field. Skills in Microsoft Excel and Microsoft SharePoint. Must have personal vehicle and valid driver's license Key Skills / Attributes: Excellent communication skills both verbal and written and ability to work both independently and within a diverse team representing Arcadis and/or our client Agencies in interactions with the client, local agencies, and the community. Proficient at reading and understanding design plans, specifications, and shop drawing submittals. Keen attention to detail and strong work ethic.
