Job Responsibilities: Effectively manage projects, resources, and staff while providing expert technical guidance in geotechnical engineering across diverse projects"”in both public and private sectors"”and ensure strict adherence to applicable guidelines. Lead geotechnical design, investigation, and analysis for buildings and infrastructure projects, including residential/commercial buildings, bridges, highways, railways, airports, pipelines, and levees/basins. Direct and supervise subsurface explorations, laboratory testing, geotechnical data interpretation, and geotechnical instrumentation monitoring programs to ensure a high-quality, timely, and within-budget delivery of the projects. Supervise and lead geotechnical design and analysis for shallow and deep foundations, earthworks recommendations, slope stability and seepage analyses, lateral earth pressure calculations, and other pertinent analyses in support of a wide range of projects in public and private sectors. Supervise and lead geotechnical support during construction of geotechnical elements, including shallow and deep foundations, grading, utility trenching, and other earthwork operations. Coordinate with clients, stakeholders, and governmental personnel, ensuring that all geotechnical concerns are addressed comprehensively. Mentor and train junior geotechnical engineers and foster their professional development. Provide support for business development activities by fostering and maintaining long-term client relationships and developing a client base for providing high-level geotechnical engineering services including identifying additional business development opportunities. For more information, read through our EEO Policy Minimum Requirements: A bachelor's degree in civil engineering suffices; a master's degree in geotechnical engineering wows but is not a deal breaker. Minimum 10 years of experience in geotechnical engineering practice with an emphasis on geotechnical design and analysis, geotechnical field investigation, and construction supervision. The successful candidate should be a licensed Professional Engineer in the state of Ohio (and/or Indiana, Michigan, or Kentucky). Local experience and familiarity with the local engineering practice. Technical Requirements: Strong interpersonal and communication skills essential for team-based working. Extensive geotechnical background including a strong fundamental knowledge of principles of geotechnical engineering, soil and rock mechanics, earthquake engineering, pavement engineering, and groundwater hydrology. Experience in construction oversight for foundation and pavement construction and earthwork observation. Experience with geotechnical engineering software. Familiarity with AASHTO, FHWA, and IBC standards, guidelines, and deliverables. Demonstrated ability to lead geotechnical projects and manage teams of geologists and geotechnical engineers. Other Miscellaneous Qualities: Must have a valid driver's license and a good driving record. Must be able to pass a background check for clearance to work on various private and government facilities. #LI-KS1
