This unit operates and requires 24 hour nursing coverage.Under general supervision, provides an array of clinical services to promote recovery, stabilization and independence based on the patient's needs and plan of care.Collects, organizes, and records data and information in each patient's medical records according to quality assurance standards, CARF guidelines and corporate compliance standards.Administers psychiatric medication to patients in the CSU. Maintains a collaborative working relationship with supervisor and clinicians to ensure proper arrangements are made in advance for medication administration/appointments for patients served on the unit.Evaluates medical health issues and medications of persons served at CSU in relation to their psychiatric diagnosis, this includes monitoring of psychiatric medications and review of lab reports.Regularly attends and participates in treatment team meetings as time permits, supervisory meetings, nursing in-service and serves on Center and SCDMH committees as assigned. Willingly assists with medical and psychiatric needs of patients as called upon.Minimum and Additional Requirements State Requirements: Graduation from an accredited school of nursing. Licensed as a registered nurse by the South Carolina Board of Nursing. Agency Requirements: A bachelor's degree in nursing and two (2) years experience; or a three (3) year diploma and two (2) years experience; or an associate degree in nursing and two (2) years experience as a registered nurse, one (1) of which must have been in a community health program. Must be licensed as a registered nurse by the South Carolina Board of Nursing.Note: When Agency Requirements are indicated, applicants must also meet the Agency Requirements.
