As we grow, we value people ready to grow a career that makes an impact far beyond just our daily workplace.As an Agricultural Field Mechanic, your more typical responsibilities will include:Inspecting, diagnosing, repairing, adjusting, and maintaining construction on various types of agricultural equipmentUtilizing problem-solving resources such as DTAC, technical manuals, personal skills, and experience in order to perform diagnosis of equipment problemsRequesting proper parts needed for repair through the parts department and keeping track of machine statusPlanning and executing the sequence of repairsConducting engine underhauls, head gaskets, rear axle replacement, hydraulic valves and pumps, rock shafts, and transmission repairsPreparing accurate inspection and service reports, and maintaining other records as requiredFollowing company policies and government regulationsKeeping work areas clean and orderly, while complying with company safety standards Additional Qualifications/ResponsibilitiesJob RequirementsHigh School diploma or equivalent experience.Vocation or technical degree, or equivalent work experience or training. 3-5 years of experience as a mechanic working on agricultural or farm equipment is required.Knowledge of service department operations, agricultural service department operations, and agricultural equipment technology.•Physical Effort: Field Mechanics regularly work on machines in tight and uncomfortable positions. They may stand for long periods of time while also having to bend, crawl, or lay on their backs when making repairs. Field Mechanics frequently lift objects weighing 50-pounds unassisted and move heavier items (over 50 pounds) with assistance of devices. Field Service Technicians will service machines both in the shop and outside the shop at customer locations. •Working Conditions: Field Mechanics perform work both in the shop and out at customer locations. You occasionally perform work on loose-footing areas outside of the shop and in the field. There is often exposure to grease, dirt, dust, fumes, drafts, and loud noises of varying levels both in the shop and out. There is also frequent risk of burns, chemical irritations, cuts, strains, bruises, etc. Field Mechanics will regularly perform work duties outside in adverse weather conditions. To combat these dangers and risk hazards, field service technicians must follow strict safety procedures, proper equipment safety, and PPE.•Travel: Requires frequent driving to & from customer locations and the shop.
