***We are unable to work with 3rd-party or corp-to-corp candidates for this position*** Overview Our client will be hiring a Maintenance Mechanic to join their team in Wilsonville, OR. Expect to work with Operators (in the furnace area), Mechanics, and the molding team. It will be important to have hands-on experience with mechanical, pneumatics, hydraulics, plumbing, lockout/tagout/tryout, and automated equipment operations. This position will be the sole Maintenance Mechanic during the Tues-Fri shift (with management/supervision available) and the Saturday shift without onsite supervision. Expect to receive training to perform routine equipment repairs and preventative maintenance. Responsibilities include assembly and disassembly of mechanical machines and facilities equipment, technical troubleshooting of equipment failures to find and solve root causes of machine malfunctions or poor process results, performing preventative maintenance, configuring/repairing plumbing, brazing, assisting Controls and Automation Technicians with basic electrical, PLC/controls and automation troubleshooting and repairs. Responsibilities : Perform preventative maintenance of pneumatic, vacuum, mechanical systems, and maybe some hydraulics as well. Assembly and disassembly of mechanical equipment. Troubleshoot equipment failures. Configure and repair plumbing, brazing, basic electronic repairs and some TIG/ARC welding. Work Environment : Personal protective equipment is required when performing work in a manufacturing plant environment, including hard hat, hearing protection, safety glasses, safety footwear, and as needed, respirator, rubber steel-toe boots, protective clothing, gloves and any other protective equipment. Work in a manufacturing plant setting, which may include exposure to extremes in temperature and humidity, moving mechanical parts, risk of electrical shock, toxic chemicals, explosives, fumes or airborne particles. Qualifications : 5 years of experience in an industrial production or military setting focused on the maintenance of pneumatic, vacuum & mechanical systems. Bachelor's degree counts for 2 years of experience, mechanical or controls technology is ideal. Strong mechanical and troubleshooting skills Knowledge of PLC controls - basic understanding, how they control the machine, be able to walk the Controls Technician through mechanical parts of equipment. Skilled using a variety of hand and power tools Able to obtain forklift certification through company trainings Mechanics and industrial automation knowledge. Ability to use shop mathematics - addition, subtraction, multiplication, and division, along with the ability to understand both SAE and Metric measurements.
