Essential Functions & Responsibilities: Manage the field accounting team dedicated to the Asplundh Infrastructure Group (AIG) segment. This team consists of Field Accounting personnel based in the Home Office, which are supported by a network of Operations Controllers deployed throughout the AIG businesses. Collectively, this structure serves as the primary "bridge" between the Company's corporate function and field operations for the Finance function (accounting and FP&A), supporting ongoing accounting, reporting and analysis needs as well as discrete field-related project deployment and process & technology enhancements. Manage the field accounting activities related to the month-end financial close and reporting processes, to ensure completed timely and at a high-level of quality. Work with finance team to make sure monthly results are correctly reported. Analyze and provide insights around AIG businesses' decentralized field operations and financial results. Serve as primary lead to drive project initiatives focused on streamlining/systematizing the gathering of production data to support accurate and timely accruals (e.g. Project Connect). Key contributor to identify and realize financial close efficiencies to drive the organization to a faster and more streamlined, accurate financial close process. Strategic business partner to field operations leadership to support accounting and reporting needs to achieve business objectives. Review and approve all high dollar/high risk journal entries for AIG segment Handle other responsibilities, as needed, such as project/system implementation support, both within the corporate function as well as field operations. Requirements: BS in Accounting (or similar degree) and CPA preferred, but not required At least 4-6 years of field/project accounting and operations experience (with ever increasing responsibilities), preferably within the infrastructure/construction industries. Preferred - Experience working directly with highly decentralized field operations that span a wide variety of business lines. Good written and verbal communication skills. A leader who promotes teamwork and collaboration. Must be able to delegate. Ability to develop a vision of "what could be", not just focused on "what is/has been" Demonstrated ability to execute/drive a project plan to completion,; including influencing others and effectively managing their team and others through change. In-depth experience using modern ERP's such as SAP or Oracle is preferred Good social skills in dealing with internal personnel, auditors, etc. Pre-Screen Upon offer, employees may be required to complete and pass a pre-employment drug screen, background, and/or MVR check.
