Job Description The Facility Services Team is responsible for maintenance, repairs, and small remodeling projects that have been contracted through our Facility Services department. The HVAC Technician is responsible for self-performing work as well as leading subcontractors to complete projects as contracted. The Facility Services HVAC Technician will primarily work in Topeka and NE Kansas, but short periods of travel may be required for specific project awards. Key Responsibilities Self-performs HVAC work. Communicates key project information to the Facility Services Team, subcontractors, clients, and owners. Ensures quality compliance through the accurate interpretation of building plans, specifications and maintenance instructions. Perform maintenance, repairs, demolition, and installation of existing and new HVAC systems and equipment. Both residential and commercial. Install and repair small-scale pipes, fittings. valves, fixtures, and plumbing systems equipment. Determine sources of HVAC and plumbing malfunctions and complete repairs according to code. Assist the Facilities Services Team with general labor and carpentry as needed. Produce quality work, safely and timely. Education, Experience, and Skills 2+ years' of HVAC experience working with both commercial and residential systems. Reading & interpreting plans, specs, safety regulations, maintenance instructions, etc. Must be self-sufficient and an effective communicator. Procore experience is preferred. OSHA 30 or 10. Current EPA certification Valid Driver's License. Ability to stand for extended periods of time, wear PPE, carry objects of varying weight, use of ladders/scaffolds/tools, and work in varying weather conditions, all commensurate with standards and norms of performing work in the course of commercial and residential construction.
