Description: The German American Chamber of Commerce, Inc. (GACC) is looking for a highly motivated intern to support our Business Development Consulting Department in New York City. The intern will not only support the team in daily tasks but will also be more deeply involved in upcoming projects. About us: The GACC was established more than 75 years ago in New York City as an impartial promoter of commerce between Germany and the US. The GACC works together with the German American Chambers of Commerce in Atlanta, Chicago, San Francisco, and Washington, D.C. under the umbrella AHK USA - with more than 2,500 member companies and an extensive national and international business network. The organization has distinguished itself as an innovative and relevant service provider as well as a reliable partner in German-American business inquiries. Comprised of a highly qualified team of professionals, the GACC New York supports companies by facilitating the following: market entry & business development, legal services, J-1 visas, recruitment and startup guidance, delegation trips and events. As a member of our team, you will be supporting a vital link in the transatlantic economy. All internships offer the opportunity to gain work experience in a truly bilingual and bicultural environment. Responsibilities include: Consulting German companies regarding their US market entry or expansion Assistance in the development of market entry strategies Conducting desktop/internet research Writing reports and market studies in English and German Intensifying contacts with German and American business partners via phone and email Handling incoming phone calls in English and German Support in establishing business partnerships between German and American companies (matchmaking) Proposal management Support in organizing / hosting industry events and delegations (incl. venue and speaker acquisition, catering, invitation management) Requirements: Recent graduate or student of Business Administration, Legal Studies or related field Good understanding of business concepts and experience in conducting market analysis Analytical thinking and problem solving Strong research skills Service-oriented personality Excellent verbal and written communication skills in both German and English Strong organizational skills (must be able to handle multiple tasks) Benefits and Compensation: $2,800/month & J-1 Visa costs (if necessary) Costs for intern: Health insurance Flight Costs for living in New York Visa costs: SEVIS fee and consulate fee Start date: January 2025 or March 2025 Interested candidates can submit a resume and cover letter with preferred start date to consulting(at) with "Your name/Internship Consulting NY" in the subject line.
